Interior noise advise

I got 18 Titan I have some dash noise that's pretty much constant. I isolated where noise is coming from. Its basically where dash meets the defroster vents. I took a business card stuffed it into the seem and it worked. I would like to get a permanent solution. Looks really trashy with business card sticking up out of dash board. Any advise would be very helpful. Thanks!!!

Re: Interior noise advise

Did the dealer not want to take care of it as a warranty item?

Re: Interior noise advise

The permanent solution may be easier done at home than dealing with the dealer. Get some open cell foam sheet and cut a shim, and work it into the slot where your business card is currently wedged. That ought to dampen the vibration enough to stop the noise and will be a non-harming, permanent solution. The dealership is likely to be a pain to deal with on this, and ultimately they'll either tear out your whole dash (and it will squeak mercilessly forever more) or they'll use some foam and shim it.

Re: Interior noise advise

Dealership not opening until this summer. I got some felt tape laying around but I do like idea of cell foam and cutting a shim.

Re: Interior noise advise

*Follow up* Got it fixed at the dealer. I wasn't about the pop the dashboard. They put some sheet foam up in there. Its dead quite now even on dirt road. Not sure why they don't do this at factory. The Nissan tech told me this fairly common.
