Re: Phone mount

And where do you have it mounted in the truck? Any chance of a photo?

Re: Phone mount

I use something similar. I have it mounted over the left air vent in my center dash bezel, but that's in a gen 1. If you have a gen 2 I know the dash layout is different. Easy reach if you're right handed, stays out of the way most of the time. It does block the air vent slightly since I have an S8+, but if I turn it sideways it doesn't block it.

Some things to note if you've never used one of these:

It raises the back of the phone to where it doesn't lie completely flat on a table. If you're like me and use it while it's lying on a flat surface it'll spin around. I have it between my phone and case so I've thought about shaving my case down ever so slightly where the magnet is so it sits flush. You can't use wireless charging with the magnet between your phone and your charger. The magnet won't hold up to severe bumps (off roading, big potholes, dropping off a curb, etc).

Re: Phone mount

Scosche Magic Mount (available WalMart or online). This one mounts directly to the soft dash material. Have had it since December and it has not let go. Previous one (also Scosche) mounted to the windshield directly. There is also a model that includes Qii charging so if you have a compatible phone you don't need to plug in at all.

Note that I mount my phone horizontally (why it's offset right) so that the phone is the same orientation and centred with the head unit. Makes it kind of like a poor man's RAM giant screen.

Keep on meaning to steal the wife's phone so I can grab a picture with my phone in position.
