JBA header pics, how's the QC look to you guys?

Recently ordered a set of JBA 6400S headers for my Titan.

Whilst waiting for delivery of them, I checked the Amazon reviews of them and a few people were unhappy with the quality of the headers, such as sloppy welds, poor flange flatness/grinding and flak hanging off inside the tubes.

Now that I look at my headers, I have a few observations and I am wondering what do you guys think:

-The tubes are definitely sloppy looking at the flange, and when compared to the OEM exhaust gasket, one primary really looks like it could use some porting.

-I checked, the tube/flange interface is ground flat, no issues like some Amazon reviewers

-Structurally, all of the welds look good.

-There is flak on the O2 bung of one collector, I will remove it.

So, for those who have installed these, did yours look like mine? Or do my headers look especially sloppy?

Maybe the exhaust ports on the head are smaller than the gasket, and everything will still flow OK?

General view of both sides showing how sloppy primaries look:

I would just get the booger out of the collector and call it good.

Yes agree my JBAs look the the same. I cleaned all the ports up with a die grinder. I think they definitely could come up with a better port design. Yes agree too all the tubes look great on the outside. With all this said they do work great.

There's really no need to clean up the ports when your dealing with less than 400 hp.....Unless you want to weaken the welds.

Re: JBA header pics, how's the QC look to you guys?

I wonder why they don't just weld the flange on the other side where the tube enters. This would keep the ports shape true and it could actually match the port on the head and gasket. Also the flange would be flat as the stock manifolds are. This must be a faster production thing they do. In the past the headers that I have built I welded the tube entering the port and air hammered the tube inside the flange so they match perfect.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to grind open the seam.

Also, the welds are what mates to the gaskets, as cattywampus as it is, grinding away the weld material would probably negatively affect the gasket seal.
