18 head unit to 19 head unit

Does anyone know if a 2019 head unit would be plug and play on a 2018 titan? The main reason for the swap would be because the 2019 supports Apple CarPlay. And, if it’s possible where could you buy a 2019 radio? Thanks

Re: 18 head unit to 19 head unit

It is not plug and Play according to Nissan and they quoted me 4000.00 CAD

I replaced mine in a 2018 SV midnight edition with a Pioneer AVH-2550NEX, Back-up camera and steering wheel controls retained.
What I bought
Axxess ASWC-1
bought stereo at Crutchfield so it came with the antenna harness and the bezel/stereo mount.

I also bought a parking brake bypass from amazon for pioneer. (not necessary) I bought it because I did not want to have to push the parking brake pedal down twice to watch a DVD.

I installed my self and it cost me just under 800.00 CAD.
The stereo sounds great, so much so I have no desire to replace the speakers(an initial thought I had)

I followed the instructions and was done in about 4 hours with no problems or issues, everything works.

Re: 18 head unit to 19 head unit

Just a heads up, you don't need the parking brake bypass. Just ground the DVD wire (which is what the parking brake does). I have an AVH-2440NEX, and DVD's will play while driving with the wire grounded. Crutchfield will just say "We can't advise doing anything other than attaching to the parking brake wire."
