  1. Removing clock spring: How?

    Titan General Discussion
Can someone please explain to me how to separate the driver's airbag clockspring from the combination switch? My (new to me) '08 is complaining of an open circuit on this airbag. I managed to snag a combo switch w/ clockspring from an '04 in the wrecking yard - a rare lucky find around here at...
  2. Does anyone have this (missing) '08 FSM section?

    Titan General Discussion
Yeah, a lot of interpreting-the-blinks stuff, and a schematic, but nothing on actually servicing the system. I have a "driver side airbag open" error (which probably means a bad clockspring/connector) and I'd like some guidance in dealing with it properly.
  3. Does anyone have this (missing) '08 FSM section?

    Titan General Discussion
(I posted this question in another thread, but I don't think anyone noticed.) As suggested by another poster, I downloaded it from https://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Titan/2008_Titan/ and sorted the pieces out. Referring to the Quick Reference Index, it's obvious that the sections in white (e.g. the...

Okay, I downloaded the lot and have sorted them out. Referring to the Quick Reference Index, it's obvious that the sections in white (e.g. the HYBRID section) aren't part of this manual. But there's one other section that should be there, but is missing: SR - SRS Airbag. Does anyone have it?

Excellent - thanks very much. Is there an owner's manual archive anywhere? Yeah, I discovered that pretty quickly. It needs a bearing but obviously will get a hub. I hate it when that happens. Looks like access up there isn't bad, though. That's the case - it's plugged and I want to...

Because life is complicated and I'm not a lone wolf who can simply pull up stakes and relocate. Let's leave it at that. That's too much driving for something that isn't enough of a sure thing. We opted for a reasonably safe path and took it to an independent inspection shop that we trust...

The seller's story is that he runs a detailing shop that does work for nearby dealers, and he snags good trade-ins from those dealers to resell. Carfax is clean - one owner, no accidents, appears to be well-maintained, etc. Mileage a little on the high side for its age - 275k km - so that may...

I just looked at one tonight. It drives nicely and no obvious problems jumped out at me. However, there are a few faults and codes that I'd like opinions/information on before we make the leap, and input as to an appropriate price would be welcome too. No CEL, but an airbag dash light is...
  9. Big tow vs. little tow?

    Titan Towing & Hauling
Okay. But since I mentioned brake controllers and horse trailers, don't you think the truck brake size is a little less important than those on the trailer? The other trailers and loads I'll be carrying/pulling with this thing are very light by comparison.

    '08 and up not affordable.
  11. Big tow vs. little tow?

    Titan Towing & Hauling
I checked in today to see what state of brake controllers is, and quickly found out there's an existing connector I can mate an aftermarket controller with - that's cool. But I also ran into mentions of "Big tow" and "Little tow". Can someone fill me on the meaning of this, please? We don't...
  12. Advice wanted: New member maybe buying old truck

    Titan General Discussion
Good to hear from you. I''m looking for the briefest thumbnail sketch. For example, the generation of Subaru 2.5 litre engines I'm into are well-understood to be due for head gaskets when they get into the 350k km neighborhood - it's a totally typical failure of this engine at high mileage...

Hi, folks, I just signed up. It's time to retire our clapped-out old 5.2litre 4x4 Dakota, and I really think we want to make the move to an import. Around here (Calgary), used Titans seem to be in our price range. So far, we've seen a few 2006 w/ 5.6 litre engines that are pretty high-miles -...
