Not everyone is posting their setup. I have a feeling that the 4X4 is making more of a difference that originally planning. Add to that the big tow and it makes it difficult to get the high mileage numbers.

I have seen as high as 13.7 on street and as high as 16.6 on highway (doing between 75 and 85 mph). However, my average seems to be around 12 on the street and 15 on the highway.

I would love to be getting 20+ congrats to those who are.

Although its too early to tell, (750 miles), mine seems to be getting ~11 mpg. This is mostly city driving and short journeys - typically low RPMs. I have the 4x2 LE king cab - no big tow.

My previous car (VW jetta) was rated at 28MPG city - I typically got about 18 - 20, so I figure 11MPG is about right for the short journeys.

14.5 - 16mpg depending on how much highway vs. city driving I am doing. Nothing less than 14mpg since I bought the truck. 7500 miles as of tonight.

sulifane7 what was your initial city mpg?Has it always been 14-15 in Houston?I would like to get that;I have just 700 miles and I get 12 mpg in short trip city mileage-New Orleans.I expected that~12,but 13 or 14 would be a nice bonus.
I also get great -19.3-hy mileage at 70+mph.I am really pleased, and surprised about that.My Tundra would get about 17 at 70+,and it would give about 13.7 in city. Thanks,Charlie

I wanna say I was getting around 12 or 13 in first 2000 miles, I can't remember for sure. I did install the Banks system right around then and instantly noticed a slight increase. Really hard to say man. I do know that I don't need to baby the engine or run without the ac to pull of 14 or 15 around town. By the way, I have a KC 2 wheel drive without big tow. Not much help I know.

Just be glad you dont own a hummer h2 like my unfortunate friend. Granted it looks cool and its actually pretty comfortable on long trips (besides the numerous times we stop for gas). He actaully has been recording 7 mpg in new york city driving. Now i understand why they are advertising arnold pushing for a more ecomincal friendly next version.

KC 2WD no Big tow also

sulifane7 thanks.i have the same setup-KC 2WD,with the 2.94 rear end.I also have the slightly shorter 17' tire wheel combo. My calculations have the 18" combo at 32.6" and the XE 17 at 31.4"(the 17" offroad is about 32.6").I measured the XE at 31.2".I turn ~1500 rpms at 60,my calculations say closer to 1600 rpms would be "right" with the 32.6" setup being 50-60 RPMS less at 60 mph.Luck,Charlie

This may sound like a no-brainer but when you put the shifter into the "drive"
position...the left side of that position is 4th gear and the right is 5th...I found
that I had inadvertently dropped it into 4th and left it there more than once. It
obviously runs at lower RPM's in 5th!

I got 15MPG on my first tank, 14 on my second and 14 on my third, while towing a 2000 pound trailer. I'm fine with that.

So I filled up again and drove around town and never got the rpm's over 2500 and all tires have 45 lbs., and I had the a/c on and I still only got 9.5 mpg.

Just knowing many of you are getting 15 plus is really bothering me. I will appeal to my dealer.

Took my truck to a friends wedding this weekend 3 hours away with the cruise set on 80 for interstate driving and on/off the gas quite bit for the two lane roads. I got 16.4 mpg. The truck has 1700 miles on it and I tend to have a lead foot. One other thing I noticed was I switched to 87 octane (we only have a 10 cent difference here for 91 octane) and my mileage actually got better, it had been consistently 14 for all other tanks...go figure. I had seen the octane debate on another thread and decided to give it a try.

I'll go ahead and admit that I dont know a whole lot about cars, but I was getting around 14 when I first bought my Titan. Since I have realized that I had the wrong tires on my truck(240 70r17) and had the dealership put the right ones back on. Since then I've been getting about 10 or 11mpg. So for my curiosity, can the tires make that difference since they are now bigger(265 70r18) or should I think that something happened at the dealership? By the way I have 3500 miles on a 4x4 CC w/Offroad and Big Tow

Terry that difference is all tire.
I doubt seriously the dealership made any computer adjustments when they swapped the wheels/tires.

The difference between the two sizes would be significant.
Think of it like this, how many times would huge tractor tires rotate traveling one mile? Now how many times would little training wheels rotate going the same distance?

The tractor tires would calculate to about 3 mpg.
The training wheels would result in about 146 mpg.

I went up just one tire size on my truck and my mpg 'dropped' enough for me to notice.

But, look at the bright side.
Everything is a whole lot closer now, work, the store, etc... :)

I just got back from a taking a mostly highway trip in my LE CC 4x4, no big tow or off road and I had less then 1000 miles on the truck and I got 18.3 mpg on a 80% highway 20% city trip. I had the AC on most of the time. I am light footed and hardly ever went over 75 mph. I just wish the leather seats where softer and I could put my seat back further, I am 6'4" and leg was still bend too much with the seat all the way back and the pedals all the way forward.

Mixed Results

My mileage results have been pretty varied but have steadily improved over the first 7k on my KC 4x4 no big tow or off road.

Highway I tend to average 16.5 to 17 mpg with a lighter foot. If I stomp on it once in while it drops proportionally to the amount of stompage :haveredfl

City driving is around 14.5 or so pretty regularly.

The worst mileage I have experienced is about 10.5 when I first got the truck and was using 4x4 for the whole tank during a snow week here in VT. The next storm was about 13.2 which I think isnt bad for 4x4 for a whole tank.
