I was telling my buddy who has a 2003 dodge dakota with the 4.7 about my stock airbox mod, tbs with screen delete and he was wondering if there is a stock airbox mod for his truck or if there are some mods he can do for cheap. I know this is a titan forum but I know alot of you out there know your crap no matter brand. Thanks for any help for my pal. I will smoke him at the the track this spring and I will video for all of you. LOL LOL LOL!!!!!

The airbox mod is basically a no-brainer if you look at the airbox and figure out that the induction "snorkel" is causing airflow restriction. I suggest looking at his airbox first to see if there's anything like that he can chop off and then checking out some dakota forums for cheap mods.

There's a bunch of cheap mods for the 4.7 Dakotas, because they have the same problem we do with the aftermarket support. I use to own one a few years ago, I went to dodgedakotas.com to get all my info. If you go there they will help you out just like here. By the way, if he has a single cab 5 speed manual with that 4.7, he might give you a run for your money.

Yes they did, but it was replaced by the 4.7l. It was suppose to be stronger and more effecient. They also have some with the 5.9l

Maybe the one ones with auto trannys, but mine was fairly quick for 4x4 crew cab. I had the 4.7, 5 speed tranny with the 3.92 gears, and it came with the LSD stock. I know alot of those guys on that website were posting similar numbers as the ones here with similar mods.
