Interest in Doug Thorley long tubes?

My only big concern is about catalytic converters for those of us who are 4wd or 08+
because we have 4 of them and wither or not we can run 2 cats and 2 emulators to keep our dash from looking like Las Vegas at night.

Hmmm we need someone who has done a set on a 4x4 to chime in...Ive got an 05 and am realy interested in these.

when i got the titan i started looking for performance parts and saw the nismo and stillen headers...

I basically said "F-that" and talked to my buddy over at Thorley about long tubes. Being that i had my tacoma before and was the test fit truck for the long tubes on the 4.0L, i knew the kind of gains i could expect from them and knew i needed headers on this truck.

I figured that if i thought that the nismo and sitllen prices were too high and wanted another option, there has gotta be some more people that are thinking the same way.

I removed the primary cats and have the Stillen O2 simulators. I don't have a CEL.

I will be getting B pipes and will get rid of the simulators. They have been proven to be needed by the ecu in order to properly maintain correct A/F ratios.

If the headers were left on my truck, there would be sound clips all over this biatch lol

They only built the headers on the truck then pulled them off to make them prettier and build the jig for them.

So 04GT did you get a chance to ask about B-pipes with high flow cats? I'd love to see them step up and offer an option to Stillen's B-pipes. It would certainly help take out some of the guess work and mitigate the issues folks are having with custom B-pipes. Thanks again for getting the project rolling!

I'm not sure you follow me... If they bolt right up to the factory B-pipes then depending on your model year, and trim level, you will delete your cats. Just like the LT Nismo's and Stillens. Make sense? Not everyone wants to drive around with no cats waking up the dead and a check engine light that's always on! LOL

So it WOULD be in their interest to make B-pipes with high flow cats and offer a true bolt on system that doesn't produce any codes. But, as well all know there are many variables that companies consider before producing new parts...

Other than price being better than nismo(HKS made) and Stillen LTs...

how does the TRI-Y setup offer better HP/TQ gains than the above headers?

What about difference in sound?

''waking up the dead"... lol i thought thats what headers were supposed to do!

I don't know about 'waking up the dead" but annoying a couple of my neighbors would be fun... :eyebrow:
Seriously, I would want hi-flow cats to make sure I had some kind of emissions control if I ever travel anywhere they require it. Or if Florida decides to start testing again...
