As you can see by my other posts I am having a rough time after installing the Banks exhaust; noise, engine sputtering. Does anyone know of a compromise? Is there a way to put on a stock muffler but keep the Banks exhaust tubing?

I'd say keep the banks muffler and the single 3" piping but switch out everything before the y pipe. The dual 3" into single 3" isn't too good for power across the band and will make louder. IMO

I have the JBA setup and love it, dual 2-1/2 (maybe 2-1/4) into single 3", good compromise between HP and Torque. Also, if it's too loud, consider swapping out the 5" tip for a 3".

for noise, see my post " who got drone" in the performance section. this techinique will cut noise. How long has it been on? it will probably need 300 miles to settle down and work right/run smoothly. juma

It’s only been on for about 70 miles now. Engine is still sputtering when given very little throttle from a dead stop. Maybe it’s the ECU getting used to the K&N CAI and the Banks.

I did remove the 5" "bugle horn" looking tail pipe tip. That made a difference in the sound. We will see over time (if I can stand it) if it gets quieter.

Mine started sputtering at idle about about 200 miles after I installed my K&N. I took it to the dealership and they reset the ECU and everything works fine now.
