[Seem to me like the full synthetic was put in too soon before the rings could seat properly. I have 11k now and no smoke or oil use issues.

I'm not using full synthetic, castrol syntec is a blend, and i didn't put that in untill dealer service at 3200 miles. Used regular 5w30 first two.

Just started truck this morning and ther was smoke, but it looked more white than blue, and smelled like gas and smoke. Maybe a rich condition? I thought gas burned black though.
Gas burns black when it actually gets burned in a rich condition. White smoke can indicate unburned gas. My old Acura Legend was putting out clouds of white smoke after an injector got stuck wide open. Of course, acid white smoke can also indicate oil burning.

It can also indicate plain condensation. Are you sure it's not that?

OK< Went to dealer today and they happened to be moving titans around on the lot. This was at 8am. I noticed that half the new titans smoked just like mine and half didn't. I got my service guy and he watched to. He said it was a combination of high humidity, 60 degree condition, and truck character. He basically said some burn a little richer depending upon the atmosphere at initial start up. Then the computer gets a read on things and clears it up . Makes since I guess, I just wish I had one of the ones that that wasn't. I also noticed that half had louder valve noise like mine.Again wish mine didn't. Oh well I can live with it because I love my truck!!

Thanx for all the input guys!!

Holy crap! Look at this stupi HVT digging up such an old thread! lol...Sorry all, but I just noticed today that on startup, I get a quick burst of blue smoke for about a second, then it goes away. I have just over 10k miles on er' and never noticed it before. Aside from what's already been said here, does anyone else have an idea of how to remedy this?

my neighbors said they saw mine smoke and followed me to the store because it was so bad just to tell me. They also said that they saw a trail of drips from my truck the whole way there I have 3200 miles on it... I just put it off as water vapor I was not worried about it... I will start to pay more attrition now at start up.

Mine had some blue when I started it up in the morning, especially when the truck had been sitting for a couple days, I was using synthetic, I changed back to dino oil and all is good now. Oil is blue, gas is black and water is white.

But gas shouldn't be blue....right? It's a quick puff of blue smoke. I'm not down any oil but am a bit worried since I never had this with my 04.
Who knows what kind of crap is in gas these days. Your nose will tell you!

well all i can say is my dodge never did this... I started it up this morning and saw the white or blue smoke got out of the truck and it smelled like gas big time.
