So....after an 03 Lightning, an 07 Dodge Hemi Crew, and a brief stint in a Cadillac CTS...(don't ask), I'm back in a truck again with the Titan. Researched current incentives, found my way to the Titan, and overall I'm impressed with the power, jolted by the bumpy suspension, pleased with the interior quality, and ultimately stoked about the purchase.
The bouncy, sensitive suspension and a seat height I can't quite get used to yet are the only down sides I can mention really. My Lightning was stiff, but never this sensitive to every bump and groove in the road at varying speeds. Guess it's the nature of the beast so I'll live with it.
The seat height and comfort are still in question. Can't quite seem to get completely comfortable yet, but it's only been two days so I'll break her in with my big *** and hope for the best.
All in all the power is amazing! This beast reminds me of my Lightning and then some in the torque realm, and the power band is beyond impressive across the board! Interior trim is sweet and the color itself is a trip! I'm normally a black or blue fan with vehicles, but with the incentives and getting close to $10,000 off of MSRP made the Timberline even more attractive though. Cool color. Looks black, graphite, or green depending on the lighting source and time of day and leaves me guessing at times. Cool!
Overall I'm happy with the truck. Barring the bumpy ride and the need for a few accessories I'm stoked and looking forward to getting to know her.
Specifics: 2008.5 Titan SE Crew Cab 4x2
accessories installed: Not much really Bed Extender, mats I am waiting on from the dealer, that's about it for now.
MSRP: $33,4xx
Price agreed on after incentives and discounts: (5500 +3600 discount + half dealer fees of 299.00 instead of 599.00)
$23,4xx plus tax, tag, and title and $400.00 on the 3 year maintenance package for oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
$6K down, financed around 20,xxx with a 60 month payment at $398.00
Bone to pick: Maroone Nissan here in South Florida pulled a strange trick. Stopped by yesterday to get my keyless remotes programmed and they advised me they have to remove the battery starter thingy due to them not selling it to me or mentioning it at the time of sale. Pretty shady to remove a part after the fact, but whatever. He had it unplugged and I have to go back for my mats at which time they will remove it. Seems to me if someone dropped the ball and let me drive away for a set, agreed upon price, then it's their problem. Might say something to the GM. Is this thing useful? Seems it's nothing more than a way to make an extra $299.00 for the dealership.
All in all, stoked with the truck, bumpy, but happy with my new Timberline Titan!
