The actual quote was "we expect the Nissan Titan to have strong resale values beating out.......blahblah" I personally don't think this will happen, especially after looking up the values of mine being a year old and with just over 10K on it. My question is where is the Pro4-X mentioned??????????????? Come on man.. :) :)

funny how all the people who posted so far have pro-4xs

Wow surprising. It's lik ethey want the Titan to come out on top? Which would be nice!

In AZ the dealers only go off of what they are going for at the auctions then on top of it they have to have a buy order or they won't even take it in on trade.

ya know I just renewed my registration today (a month late) and right there it says "Titan XE/SE/LE/PRO-4X Crew Pickup"
I didn't know that I bought a multi-model...

Atleast they mentioned all the possible models, with leaving any out

I love my Titan (SE 4x4 CC), but there's no way in hell that they hold their value better than Chevy or Ford for that matter (possibly Dodge, they're a POS IMO).

How else could a 1.5 year old (bought brand new) 2006 year model $32K SE KC 4x4 only go for $20K at trade-in? How was I able to buy a 2008 model $37K SE 4x4 CC with only 7500 miles for $22K?

At that rate, our trucks are only worth about 40-50% of their MSRP about about 2-2.5 years. I would say that's pretty bad, and what compounds the issue is when you can buy a brand new Titan for $10-$15K off MSRP.

I see tons of Titans on the Internet (eBay, Cars.com, AutoTrader.com, etc.) with less than 30K miles and they're dirt cheap. I guess it's either the gas mileage or the reliability problems of the past that are causing folks to dump their Titans even before the factory warranty has expired.

That leaves us SOL when it comes to re-sale value, but I wouldn't trade mine for any Dodge, Ford, Chevy, or Toyota out there today. The Titan, even with the oldest platform around, is still the best looking and best value out there IMO.

Simple. When there are huge rebates and dealer incentives that allow the truck to be sold $10,000 below sticker, then the actual value of the vehicle is $10,000 below sticker. Even if you didn't get the deal, if during the model year that such an offer occurred, then the model year is devalued.

In other words, the $32000 sticker price vehicle's actual value is the lowest selling price of an identical model for that model year.

And a lot of the time people take advantage of the rebate to help hide negative equity in a trade in which just rolls into the new vehicle.
Bye bye trade in value....

A patient of mine is a Nissan salesman and he told me something that surprised me. They only have a couple of Titans on the lot for a decent size dealership. Even though there are rebates, the money they are getting is more than in the past because there is an increasing demand with fewer on the lots. Could just be a salesman blowing BS, don't know.

He was driving an '05 that they bought off lease so they could have one to sell. That's how few of them there are, at least around here. The dealership closer to me has none on their lot, haven't seen one there in almost 6 months. Maybe with cheaper gas, there is somewhat of a resurgence of interest in the titans???

Bottom line if you like your Titan you're not looking to trade it in, and besides there is not another truck out there as fun to drive as the Titan. I have a 2005 LE cc and with 85,000 mile and the truck still run strong. The question is what would you trade it in for? I've driven the new Chevy and Ford, not a Dodge fan and I'll keep my Titan. Now when the new smaller diesels come maybe I'll consider getting a new truck.
