I'm not interested in putting anything on my truck just for looks and I was wondering exactly how effective bug shields are.

I bought from the 'stealer' also (nice touch Hatchman).
OEM design is very nice. At first I was going to consider a larger aftermarket one, but liked the fact the OEM had screws to secure it and not the doublesided tape. As many have said it is effective at keeping the entire hood clean (bugs and chips), but many bugs still make the windshield. It's an easy but tedious install.
Another plus for the OEM is it is barely visible from the cab and IT IS ROCK SOLID. Many larger shields flop around in the wind and/or cause excess drag. The OEM doesn't flinch at 80+ mph !!
