i drive to cali every other week... and i average about 15-16mpg on the freeway.. but im usually doing between 85 and 100 the whole way.. and i drive like an idiot.. so it all depends on how you drive... lol

When I took mine to PA last Nov. I averaged 18mpg and had 2 tanks break 19mpg. I averaged 75-80mph. I have a tonneau cover which helps a little bit(~1mpg). The key that I have found is stay below 80mph, anything over(even 5mph more) will seriously start eating into your mpg big time. It's like after 80 it hits a huge wall and just starts drinking gas.
Just for the record I get exact mpg at every fill up, lol.
If you have an iPhone you can get an application called " gas log" and you reset your odometer each fill up and you can see over wks, months etc. Also you can see differences with mods you make, etc ya know? And. You can see based on the price of gas your cost per mile.
It's either free or a dollar but worth it for your long term viewing. You can see average mpg, costs for each season, total mileage driven in a month, 2 mo, a year, etc. It give you all of it so you can graph it, etc... Plus you can do multiple vehicles if you want.....
Check it out. For my driving which is aggresive on the gas I'm averaging about 13.7 with a 2wd with a k&n and a flowmaster...

Interstate travel on cruise at 80, I get 17mpg. Mixed driving I get 15.5-16.5

How the hell do you get so good? Do you baby the pedal? You 2wd? I am and I get 13.5 and the worst tank I got was 11.2 driving hwy and in town...
You got one of those tornados man, haha, like literally.....

Yes, I'm 2wd, and yes I baby it during normal driving. Though I love to open it up, I don't really have the urge to all the time. I have a nice stereo system, and I relax behind the wheel and just cruise. I don't go over 2k rpm on takeoff, and 80 is the max I go on the interstate. I use the same gas station every time, too. Now, if I have to pass, that's where I open it up, but when I'm out of traffic, I go back to cruising.

I think you're too heavy on the accelerator on take off. That kills mileage from what I've found.
Could be. I'll check this here theory. I guess with the exhaust I like to hear it so I tend to hit certain speeds faster to hear the cleanest notes such as appx 50mph.
