I must say that I have run flowmasters since 1998 and I'll never go back. They sound great but perform no where near as well as this magnaflow. Hands down, a flow through muffler is the way to go. My low end tq is back and the drone isnt all that bad inside.( No worse than 40 series Flowmaster) I ran it single in and dual out 12" dumps. It's the 14" maggy. Seat of the pants TQ gain over flows. To each is own but I'll never put another Flowmaster or any chambered muffler on my truck again. For those of you running Flows dont take offense to this. Thanks to everyone that steered me the right way. I'll post pics tomorrow.

How does the overall loudness compare to your Flowmaster 40?

Maybe now, you'll get your <15 run.

I try to tell people, but some of them will argue their face about their FM mufflers performing just as good. Oh well, you have come to the light LOL, or as one guy said "you have now drank the cool-aid" LOL....Yeah man, get out there on a cool night and run the crap out of it

Maybe I need to trash the Flowmaster 40 that I have and jump on the Magnaflow band waggon too. wich one has the best all around deep tone and performance, I will be dumping it right away as it comes out of the muffler.

Congrats dude!! You do have to remember that the Aerochamber performs virtually identical to a Maggy, hence the reason they're the only chambered muffler I'll ever use. I may bite the bullet and modify my system and try some Maggies as well to see what difference if any, they may make. Congratulations again on your purchase.....it will provide may years of service for you. Give it a week or 2 and after it's broken in, it will sound a bit tougher.

It was a used muffler. Around 20,000 miles through it. As far as loudness goes compared to my FM. It's just a totally diff sound. Deeper sounding and smooth through each gear. WOT pops a little but no more than the FM 40. Cant wait to drive it tomorrow.

From everything I've read you might want to try the 18"

LOL I hope so. If I can run 15.2 or 15.3 without a tuner then I know with BD or Superchips I'd hit the 14's. I ran without the BD twice and I was 15.4 or 15.5. I'll have to find the slips. We will see how much in the 1/4 I gained by switching. Hopefully soon

Anyone ever reset the ECU after a muffler swap???? Just wondering......

Nice! Yeah, I think those who argue that the flowmaster performs are just basing that on the "ear dyno"...because flowmasters do sound sweet, but flow-through is the way to go. I love my 14" magnaflow :)

no need to reset the ecu
Thanks. I didn't think so. By the way I drove it around today and I'm still in love with it. LOL:redblob":hat::)

Can you tell a real difference?

To me it feels like it did when I got the 2* timing advance. I think it's more of the TQ I'm feeling. No comparison with the Flowmaster on power. PERIOD!!!

That's good man. I guess you got back what the fm's took away and then some. :teeth:

Now I need to decide on a tuner for this spring to get me into the 14's. Oh yes it's coming, my 1st 14 second run!!!!! Superchips is what I'm leaning towards.

I would suggest the BDGT, but you already had the PP. I think either will get you into the 14's pretty good. Those features on the GT make me wanna trade up, but the SC may put out more pwr. Who knows.
