I was cruising down the street when this loud 4 banger (intake sound followed by the exhaust note zoomed by) knowing me i proceeded to follow, i recalled that these Civic SI's run like a mid seven second 0-60 mph and a mid to high 15 sec 1/4 mile, so i tagged along and we came up to a light, i hit the brakes and gas at the same time just to show him i was game, he answered back witha loud fart can sound, i have vdc on, my eyes on the light, then vrooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i take off hes beside me for the first 20-30 feet thats when i stomp pedal to the metal and surprisingly i beat him by id say 3-4 cars up to 90mph (i know, i kinow i shouldnt have done it in the street, im sorry, im sorry) when we got to the other light he just looked over at me and said youre lucky i didnt spray on you, i immediately responded you're lucky i didnt punch it all the way, he just laughed and made a right hand turn, i felt good even though i did lie about the not punching it part, but hey; so now i definately know im running mid to low 15 second 1/4, hopefully low 15's considering he had a bit of mods. I just had to tell my encounter.

You'd have seen his left rear wheel lift up just before spraying you...lol. if it DOES happen though....Tomato juice works!

Spray what? Oil? Mace? Spit?

I don't think he's bragging so much about the impressiveness of the car he beat, as he is the joy of beating one of the "fast and ignorant". I love blowing past the knuckle heads around here with their "civic nation" cars, and leaving them behind from red lights. Don't always do it, but it is tempting when they have their window down sharing their music (?) with the space station and have the hat brim off to the side.

I could get so many tickets again...

Amen. Isn't it tempting to do it, though?

Especially because nobody EVER said, "Wow, you got a Camry!!" :jester:

no,,,,,, its NAAWZZ!! LOL!! I promise you he DIDN'T have the bottle. He would have used it if you were pulling on him.

WoW! Titan takes out a Civic - how about a Corolla or Sentra next?
Well you do know that the civic SI and titan are doing the same 0-60 times so it's a drivers race. BTW the SI only has 160hp and the new ones 200hp.

Now sentra se-r with it's 175hp does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds that the same time that some auto mags clocked the titan. So it's not really taking advantage or anything. It could have easily went the other way.

There was a post not to long ago about TrucK Trend lowering the TiTans 0 to 60 from 7.2 to 6.7.

here it be:

Well I do agree it is tempting to roll over those annoying little cars with the "coffe can" tail pipes, and big arse wings on the back - sometimes I'd like to pile up next to them and ask them "what the hell were you thinking when you bought all that $h!t?" - some of them are just damn funny looking.

As far as the Titan rolling it up on my Ram Hemi - You Bet - that is the one thing I miss about my Titan is the speed and my dual flowmaster - but soon to come.

r-ICE r-ICE BABY vanilla rICE :jester: :jester: :jester:

Hey Gearman, I was wondering what happened to your Dodge since it wasn't in your sig in the first post. I though you might have traded it for another Titan :jester: :jester: But I see it's back in your sig.

ICE - lol - it's just funny stuff what those kids do to those civics, neons, etc . . . thanks for the extra chuckles.

My new Ram is fine - so far so good - just turned about 1700 miles - I guess to early to tell - I had 22,000 on the Titan - so I guess I'm waiting till 20,000 miles to pass final judgement on the swap - unless of course there is a major melt down before 20k. The big difference is the power of the line - but I had a Volant and Flowmaster dual set up on the Titan - soon to add AirAid cai and Flowmaster American Thunder dual set up to the Hemi to see if that will ope it up a little. So far I'm very happy.

Merry Christmas!

gtbigup the si's (or sir's in canada) have the k20a3 engine which makes 160hp, the type-r civic overseas makes around 200 with a k20a engine, i think something like 197ish, which we dont get here, the only 200hp(now 210hp for the 2005 model) is the acura rsx type-s, the base model rsx has a k20a3 with 160hp with minor differences over the civic si, just to clear that up

(north american models)

MODELS (2002+)
civic si/sir k20a3 160hp
rsx base/premium k20a3 160hp
rsx type-s k20a2 200hp(210hp for 2005 model year)

Well, although I agree about the sheer joy I feel everytime I spank one of these young punks in their Hondas, there is one little Civic in my neck of the woods I wouldn't want to tangle with. When I dyno'd my Titan a few weeks ago, the shop had just finished dyno-ing this late 90's Turbo'd Civic pushing 338hp and 235tq to the wheels. Not sure what those things weigh....what, 2 or 3K? With a HP to Weight ratio like that, it would smoke any one of us!
