The weather isn't being nice again. Sunny and windy is the forecast. High temp of 52 is cool, but the winds are supposed to be 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30, and they are going to be headwinds:( I've looked it up and it's about .1 to .15 for each 10 mph so. The da is going to be about 400 or so. Wish me luck and hopefully I can run a 14.30 or so in those winds:) I'm going to run the last run around 6pm when they close, so hopefully by then the winds will die just a bit for a good run. I'll post times and some vids tomorrow night after I get back around 8pm. Also, I have a 60" belt I'm going to try too, if I feel like it. Depends on my mood after my first couple runs. LOL

You will, just keep in mind, the dang winds are going to kill me. Last year I ran in some 15 to 20 mph headwinds and ran about .2 slower. Not making excused just want everyone aware of the crappy conditions. No way I'm not going though. LOL I've been waiting for months to run again! I'll have some video too, my wife is going.

O.K so the winds were absolutely horrible, so bad people were leaving after 2 runs. My buddy runs 14.1 consistently with about a 100-600 DA and he was running 14.7 today. Another guy has a 6.0 GTO and runs 12.9's he said and his best time today was 13.6. I heard all of this before I ran so I knew I'd be lucky to break 14.6 or 14.7. Winds were steady (straight on headwinds) at 22 mph with gusts to 35mph:( DA was 1210.

My best time was a 14.50 @ 91.78 mph. Corrected it is a about a 14.30 not even taking into factor of the winds. I can't wait to run it on a good day with light winds. I will be posting up at least a 14.0X slip soon:)

By the way my best 60' time last year on a 0 DA day was 1.94, today all of my 60' times were 1.95-1.96 with 1/8 mile times of 9.15. After the 1/8 mile is where the wind absolutely killed all of us! I'll post up a slip and a vid when I get home.

AfterUprev20-25mphwindsHeadwinds.mp4 video by hoytusarules - Photobucket I sent the time slip from phone and it's not to my email yet. I'll post it up soon. 60' was 1.95 1/8 was 9.15 @ 73 mph

Thanks for posting the results.

I will hit 13's w/out 30 mph head winds. Lol I cant wait for the next good da with light winds. My corrected time was a 14.31 & if the winds were worth .3 or .4 like 5 different people said, ill be there:) I saw a 6.0 Gto running 13.7's with 1.96 60' times so that tells you how bad they were. He said he ran a 12.9 last yr on a hotter day. Also ran an evo, the one in the video & he runs 12.3's. Yesterday his best time was a 12.69 & he's alittle more aerodynamic than us.

Good times for those conditions bro, you'll hit 13's in better conditions. Glad you got to race atleast, our races got cancled and the next one is next month so the wait continues.

Are you running tomorrow?

#13 · (Edited)
YES! 2 to 6 pm. Da will be about 100 to 300 and I will have a 5 to 8 mph tail wind. I'm working 6 to noon for some O.T., it's going to drag! Tomorrow will be a true test as to how much I've gained with Uprev:)

Great, looking forward to your run times.

Last weekend I forgot to air up the tires and fold in the mirrors, so I'll be doing that. I ran 38psi in them and usually I run 47psi at the track. Might be worth .05 IMO. I'll post up slips and vids tomorrow evening. Hell just PM me your cell and I'll text ya:) Might actually try the short belt too, we will see how busy they are.

I'll wait like the others, thanks.

Leaving in 1hr:) DA at race time should be -200 or so with a 5 to 10 mph tailwind:) This should be my 13.9? but we will see. If it doesn't happen today it will take a -1200 or more DA to get it and that's not going to happen. I'll be pumped if I run a 14.0X-14.1X

Awesome!! Let us know how it goes!

Anticipation sucks!.. Good luck man! 13.9!.....13.9!!......13.9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "idhitit2:

First Pass 14.18 94.51 mph

#23 ·
You're almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stomp on that pedal!

#24 ·
He must be changing the belt now.

DA was -213 and my best time was the 14.18 @ 94.51 mph. 60' was a 1.92:) Ran a ton of 14.19 to 14.22 runs. Switched to the short belt and ran another 14.18 @ 94.4 mph with a DA of -67. Short belt did nothing for me but I'm pumped on running my new PB. It feels good to know that I'm only .18 from 13's so I know with headers I should be solid 13's (13.85 or so). I'll post some vids & time slip up in the media section here in a bit. Raced a 6.1 Challenger that was running 12.9 to 13.3 and a new 5.0 Mustang that was running high 11's. Had a freakin' blast today!!!!!!!

Thats what it is all about, having a blast. Those are spme cool cars that you got to run! That 5.0 hitting 11's huh? And the Challenger SRT is a cool car....14.1 with basically just intake, exhaust w/no cat, and tune in a 4x4 truck, not sure you could ask for anything better from a supposed "305" HP truck.

#28 ·
Thanks man! How much did headers give you in the 1/4 mile?

#30 ·
Oh ok, so with headers and a fine tune I should be looking at about a .3 gain?

#31 ·
I don't see any reason you wouldn't be able to hit 13.8. Its hard to say with your truck. I would think you would need some smaller wheels, but your running good now. I would say a .3 gain is about right, which would put you at 13.8. Then if you get one of those super negative DA days, then you'll run even better. I mean my LOWEST trap speeds with headers where 95 and low 96 MPH in hot weather, so your top end will def improve. Not sure your lowend can get much better, best 60's I got where 1.89 and 1.92, and your already at 1.92

Congrat's man!!! That's a new best for you isn't it? It doesn't get much closer to 13's than that! Yea, you will pick up a couple MPH after you get header's! My T run's between 95.xx-97.xx MPH in the 1/4.

It's starting to warm up down here, but i going to try to hit the 1/8 mile track next week! I love these B-Pipes the power gain in the mid range is awesome! My T will spin the 22"s for a few second's, if i nail it from like 30MPH. Before it would barely spin, then hook. :)
