Anyone with OBX longtubes run at the track yet?
Reaction time doesn't help or hurt 1/4 mile times. What was the da on the 15.8 & the 15.3?Ok, here's the results from my run tonight. My best time with superchips 93 tune and FM 40 series cat-back was 15.8 @ 87 mph. Tonight I ran the Uprev 93 tune and got a 15.3 @ 90 mph. I know that I could have done better, but it was the first Wed. night test-n-tune and was packed. I only got 2 runs. I've never done a foot brake start, so my RT was .545. My best RT to date is .070. So doing something different with a much slower RT plus the setup that I have showed a .5 sec improvement. I know that I can get much better if I put the Titan on a diet (remove bull bar, step bars, spare tire, and some interior items). All that and I checked to see which gears I have and it's the 2.9x gears. As the year goes on, I'll post up some from time to time.
I agree, I wish he'd post up a time slip so I can check the DA and the 60' time. I'm sure OBX headers are worth more than that. He went from FM muffler to a bullet, Obx headers and Uprev. Thats worth a full second right there. The DA must of been bad to only gain .5 seconds.... especially with the mods you have, you should at least be 14.2-14.5
Your 60' time is killing your 1/4 ET. You add/subtract .2 in the 1/4 for every .1 difference in 60' time. If your 60' was at 2.00, your 1/4 would have been ~14.5.I agree that the times should have been better. I put the truck in drive and let the truck shift itself. I noticed that it was shifting at the red line. My dyno sheet shows that my peak hp is around 4500. This was my first run of the season, but only my 3rd set of runs ever in my life. I'm sure the times would be better if my truck was on a diet and a more experienced driver. Anyway, here are the times:
10:21 p.m. April 6, 2011 Gainesville Raceway
RT: .545
60': 2.419
330: 6.460
1/8: 9.856
MPH: 72.03
1000: 12.815
ET: 15.327
MPH: 90.21
O.K that explains it, lol a 2.419 60' time. If you launched just one time for me in 4wd your 60' time would be a 2.0 and you'd knock off .5 or .6 your 1/4 mile time. You'd be a 14.5 to 14.7 on the same day and same conditions. What was the temp like?? DA is density altitude and plays a huge roll on your times. The cooler the denser the air, the better she runs.I agree that the times should have been better. I put the truck in drive and let the truck shift itself. A 2.10 60' is about as good as it gets without Trutrac on street tires.Your 60' times are not that good because your truck is a torque beast! 2.2 is all you will get w/out tru trac unless your man up & launch in 4wdpm me if you ever decide to try it.
That is unless you launch it in 4X4! :eyebrow:A 2.10 60' is about as good as it gets without Trutrac on street tires.
Awesome, please post a pic of the time slip.Okay, here's my first run:
