(I don't know how to edit the threads title, but I didn't put a "W" in between the T and O to spell two... I have problems and couldn't let it go...)

Joining this forum is the best thing that could have happened to my T! I've gone from a CAI, to a cat back and then made a grounding kit as per instructions on here. After reading more and more about B pipes, I thought why not gut the ones that are there.

I was able to use your previous threads and instructions and to knock it out during lunch.

If you haven't done this.... You're wrong!!!!!

Thanks TT!:hi:

Right after the work was done:

And just because it's fun to make these kinds of vids:

Cool man! What did you use to gut those Cats?

Also, what did you re:grounding that is different than what you had?

Thanks!

What would be one of the benefits of doing this? And have you gotten a check engine light on. With my luck all of my lights would come on after this mod.
If you are a 4x4 or T is 2008 or newer your truck has 2 sets of cats. The ones in the b-pipes are behind sensors so no codes. Benefit is a more free flowing exhaust. I've used a small piece of tubing or T post before

Hey guys, I used a screw driver and a hammer, and then scrapped left overs out and finished with a vacuum. It was super easy and WORTH IT. Zero codes came up because like what Philemon13 said, they are after the O2 sensors. Soooo, DO IT!

Post a vid/sound clip with the gutted cats plumbed back in. How much did the sound change for you?

I'll try to get a vid up tomorrow. The sound got a bit deeper, and thumpy'er if that makes sense. It grumbles more at idle. I love it and wish I didn't wait. Honestly I see no reason to buy walker B pipes since this is basically the same thing and look 100% stock because it is.

The best part was the speed gains. I'm sure it played a decent part in my most recent 1/4 mile.

I'll tell you what, I'll mail you the crap I banged out if you paypal me $20. That's $140 proffit on your end! :teethmast
No joke, people are paying crazy money for cats. Around here at the Fuccillo Kia dealership (apparently biggest kia dealer in the country) some people went and cut the cats out of 140 or so cars one night to submit at the scrap yard. The dealer has so many cars they don't have space in the parking lots so they park them in fields around the area and theres no lighting and no cameras.

Also, did your grounding kit make any difference? I have some 6 gauge laying around and was thinking about making one.

:huh:would this work on an 05?

dude no cats owns..... gas mileage, grunt, 1/4 mile times, and mph in the 1/4. (well i still have berks B-pipes but those really arent much of a cat) welllllll worth it IMO

deeper idle, louder in general. i can get about 20 mpg's highway at about 75-80 mph. the main reason i did it though was for performance...just imagine how much air is being pushed out through the exhaust...well it immediately runs into a wall (you cat) right iff the block so removing the cats allows for 100% better flow wich results in better performance!
