Mine was one of them...just wish it wasn't ground........
...but it was FREE! :) lol

Along with making a 90mm TB work, this is the other thing that is making me itch. Does or will one of these MXPs perform as well, or even outperform the Spectre 4" mod; particularly with the MAF sleeve out. So I have ordered one of these to compare against my current 4" intake. I will post the results in 0-60 times and volumetric air flow (grams/second).

Don't forget to text me first:)

Sweet I hope it does well because it is on my truck now. I would think with the velocity stack and the way its designed it should do well.

Alright, good news for the owners of both as they both ran almost equal. To make it as "apples to apples" as I could, I took the velocity stack and 6" amsoil filter off my Spectre setup. I also left the lid off my volant box. I do have double ram airs on my 4" setup but they should have been mostly negated by leaving the lid off. For the Airaid, I installed it right out of the box per the instructions. The runs were about 30 mins apart and the temp dropped 2 degrees; however, the IATs in my logs were the same.

Results:

Spectre 4"
0-60 in 5.34
Max air flow = 310.4 gm/s

Airaid MXP
0-60 in 5.37
Max air flow = 304.6 gm/s

Also for anyone who is curious, My Spectre 4" with the velocity stack and 6" Amsoil filter has a max flow of 326 gm/s.

I need you to clarify a bit. What filter did you run the test with on the Spectre, or you ran with no filter? What would have been the 0-60 if you ran with the 6" Amsoil and velocity stack?

I ran with the spectre oiled filter.

I ran a 5.32 with the Amsoil filter and velocity stack.

Looks like I need to get a Amsoil filter and V stack. Thanks for testing Ben!

If I do, my 4" CAI will consist of airaid tubing, spectre maf mounting piece and Amsoil filter. Frankenstein CAI:)

Thanks Ben for posting the test results. What kind of GM/s readings did you get prior to the 4" spectre and Airraid?

Your in luck. It just so happens that I put my stock intake on two weekends ago in order to rebaseline my MAF table for the 4" sleevless setup. My stock intake does have the snorkle tubes removed (airbox mod) but other than that it is stock all the way down to the paper filter.

Max flow with the stock intake was 288 gm/s and I lost .28 seconds 0-60.

Yuck, and back in the attic it goes.

Lastly, if anyone is getting upset because yours are in the range of 250-260 gm/s, please don't as that is normal for an uncammed engine.

I completed my install and DIY ram-air yesterday. I'll post a thread on the install (Summary is that I kept the 3" fog light tube fed through the fender well, and changed from 4" to 6" from the grill). Initial impressions are positive, with one exception:

1) Installation was TIGHT. Extra tight for me, due to the SC TB being closer to the radiator, and the 6" ram-air that I'm running to the front of the air box. The ram-air compressed the box a little, and made getting the filter in a ]3itch! Not reflective on the Airaid product, but a heads up for your reference.

2) The MAF isn't properly seated. I couldn't get both mounting screws seated simultaniously as they appeared to be missaligned. I had seat one completely, and zip-tie the other. Not happy with having to rig it like that.

Haven't done any WOT runs yet (wet weather), but butt dyno suggests a little more low to mid range. That would be my guess anyway.

The MAF sensor should align and screw in perfectly like mine did. Are you sure you don't have it in backwards? If you have it oriented properly, you must have a bad intake tube. I hope they didn't produce a new batch like that.

Still waiting for mine... Should have shipped already.

Sorry guys, with how big this CAI is, ^^^^ that is only one unit.

Hey guys I will have some dyno's runs done on monday with my SC with this CAI so hope to put down some good numbers.

Nice! Are you gonna do a before and after?
