Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their titans. I have a 2011 Pro4X that I bought new and I currently only have 11,000km on it. I have recently noticed that the pain on the edges of the bumper have worn away exposing bare metal. I have no modifications on the truck and the tires are the proper size as per the manufacturer's specs. It appears that the stock mudflaps may have not been doing their job in preventing rocks from kicking up from the road and causing the damage.

I should also mention that this truck so far has only been on pavement and NO gravel roads. In addition I wash the truck routinely to prevent any salt or chemical de-icer corrosion.

I have an appointment with the dealership next week as it is out of town. I am worried that the warranty will not cover this damage as it appears to be caused by "road conditions". I am shocked and appalled that after only 11,000 easy km my truck is showing this kind of damage.

Attached are the photos I have taken.

Mine looks like it has been sandblasted. Along with the leading edge of the bed and some good chips along the rockers. Also on the bumper where the plastic cover has scratched lines in it from stepping on them. I travel a lot of dirt roads which doesn't help, but it seems the paint just sucks. I'll probably bed line or line-x the rockers and edge of the bumpers since the dealer will be more hassle then it's worth. Yours actually looks much worse than mine and more concentrated in the pic. Maybe the dealer can help out in your case.

yeah, same issue with mine. Just an issue of that leading edge facing all the stuff that get's thrown up. Not a fan of Nissan paint myself, but I'm not sure anything would hold up to that with an exception...

you could get some touch up paint and sand that leading edge down, get some color back on it, and face it with some clear protection film. Go to a local installer of that stuff and see if you can buy some scrap or partial material that is unused from some other kit. Cut it down yourself and put it on that area that get's hit so hard. I did this on my last truck and just haven't gotten around to it on the current one. Works very well.

You could also just mask a nice line and try dabbing on some truck bed liner just on the face. Wouldn't look weird on your gray truck at all, though I think I'd still get some clear film.

Good luck, and take care of it soon before it starts pitting the metal too bad.

I know this is an older thread but any word from the dealership? My truck is doing the same issue, and the dealership said it isn't covered. So I'm curious now.

Hey yeah I forgot to post what happened! The dealership without hassle agreed to pay to have it re-painted. After having the paint repairs finished I had the auto protector film put on. Hopefully that will correct the issue. So far so good.
