I am actually going to be purchasing a set of QTP 2.25" electric cutouts here within the next month. I am getting 2 for more loudness. I am running on stock manifolds and stock exhaust. All I have are Berk Tech b-pipes and a FM super 44 and that alone sounds really loud right now. i have been researching this for quite sometime as well and have not found 1 bad thing about doing this. I will update you guys when I get them in and put up a thread.

Looking forward to hearing the results!

BTW is there any pro / con to having it installed before or after the cats? Other than loudness before the cats (but I haven't found anyone that will touch aftermarket products pre cat)

From what I have gathered up, I don't believe there is not pros or cons if you run them before or after. I personally am going to run them after the Berk Tech B-pipes but before the muffler just to relieve any back pressure (if there was any at all at any point in time). I think if I were to try and run them before the cats, the fitting would be a little too tight so I don't want to do that.

I don't think the little motor could take that much heat anyway right next to the cats.

Dallas Titan- are you going to weld them in? And are you going to get a quieter muffler so you can have quiet and loud rather than loud and louder?

They do have a little heat shield protector around the motorized part (since I am getting electrical cutouts) but to be safe, I am putting them after the cats, cause I also dont want to cut into the Berk Tech B-pipes or get heated up.

I am going to weld them in. The ones I am getting are Y-pipe flanges where I can bolt up the electrical cutout at the end. I am going to leave my exhaust system as is. FM super 44 as regular set up and the E-cutouts as UNLEASH HELL mode.

Same here man i wouldn't dare cut up these Berk Tech's! They are truly a work of art!!! :)

You'll be golden with it installed directly after the Y & before the muffler & that way you'll only need one! :eyebrow:

The only thing i can think of that might be a minor issue with them installed pre-cat & that is just throwing the p0420/p0430 (cat codes).

Sweet! I definitely plan on installing one eventually myself! I've got a couple other mods in mind first though! :eyebrow:

You are certainly right. I would NEVER want to cut into the Berks

Well dude, I have something to admit to. I flipped my FM super 44 around. Originally it was meant for a single entrance/dual outlet but I did read that FM can be reversed and it would still work good. So my Super 44 is set up as a dual inlet/single outlet so I will be running dual electric cutouts for EXTREME loudness.

QTP » Electric Exhaust Cutouts

Look at the "Dual 2 1/4" Electric Valve, Wiring Harness and 1 Toggle Switch w/10225 Stainless Steel Cutout Pipes". That is what I am getting and what is included. Very detailed.

Thanks for the link! Those kits looks nice!

Looks like i would need the: QTEC30CP Single 3" Electric Valve, Wiring Harness and 1 Toggle Switch w/10300 Stainless Steel Cutout Pipe for $227.00

Not a bad deal either for what you get! :)

Make sure and take pics of the progress. I think its a good decision to go with the QTP brand.

FM super 44 as regular set up and the E-cutouts as UNLEASH HELL mode
And you better get a custom switch made with "Unleash Hell" written on it.

Looks like I'm going with this brand in a Dual 2.5 when I'm able to buy...

Welcome to DMH Performance!
You won't be disappointed. I've had a couple DMH cutouts and they have worked flawlessly. Just don't torque the bolts down when attaching to the Y pipe or it will not work properly, i.e. not open. Don't ask me how I know:teethmast

Heck I can go with DMH as well and save me $100 bucks. Just might do that now too, haha.

DMH is also a good brand as well for e-cutouts. The only reason I wasn't going to get mine from them was because I was worried about them not having a 2.25 fitting. I though 2.5 would be too big since I got stock piping which is 2.25 but after some more research, it looks like 2.5 isn't too big after all so I might go with DMH as well.

It's actually 2 1/8" OD

So do you think 2.5 (2 1/2) might be too big or will it still fit okay?
tough call b/c they offer a 2" e-cutout too. 2 or 2.5" is close enough for a good exhaust shop to work with. I'd call the shop doing the install and see what they say.

titanss determined the stock 07+ pipes are 2" ID, 2 1/8" OD into the muffler and 2 3/4" OD after.

04-06 is 2.25 and the 07+ is 2.5 according to the threads i read here. that or its 04-07, then the 08+ is larger. i think there is a sticky on it

titanss measured his 07+ pipes when he cut them up to make his dual exhaust setup. I trust his word on this, the other accounts are hearsay. Firelife also confirmed that his stock 07 pipes are less than 2.25" as well.

i think its more of a general size. if you order a muffler, you go with a 2.25" inlet, not a 2.125" inlet. i havent read of anyone posting the 2.25 inlet was too big for the stock exhaust.

not trying to start a pissing match, i just dont want a newcomer to read this and worry about what size inlets they need and post a million threads on the topic
