Hi all, I purchased an 08 Nissan Titan recently and wanted to add a little lift to the truck. It is an 08 Crew Cab 2wd. In the excitement of the idea of a lift I purchased a 3" front spacer and 2" rear block kit. The site claimed easy bolt on installation that would not affect factory ride. After purchasing I decided to research the install. I am a bit concerned because I began reading that with 3" front lift I would have CBC. Crap, how can they claim bolt on install with factory ride quality. So my question is, will i have contact? If so what upper control arms do I need to purchase to eliminate this? Will the rear blocks max out the shocks and clank every time I hit a bump? Im disappointed right now and would appreciate any information you can provide. Sorry if this topic has been beaten into the ground already.

Honestly I wouldn't run a 3" spacer up front you will be going through cv axles and coilbucket contact, and probably alignment issues, and sway bar endlink issues. I don't remember if 2" or 2.5" was the max leveling spacer on a 08 2wd but I'm sure someone here will say pretty quickly.

hey jtrick

Congrats on your Titan. Check out PRGs website. There is a wealth of knowledge on there about Titan suspension lifts and what is good and what is not. I think they have done alot of reasearch and trial and error. Rough country has a good front 3" lift that comes with UCAs, endlinks, spacers, everything you need except for bump stops which I hear are easy to find. As for the rear, you may need longer shocks once you get to the 2"+ lift. Hope this helps.

Congrats on the titan, I'm 4wd, but I did a 1.5" spacer in the front and got 3" of lift, then did a 1" rear block, did an alignment, seems ok so far its been about 6 months. The rear block is a prg, the front I have no clue got it on craigslist. Good luck you're gonna love it.

With you being a 2wd you can go higher in the front than us with 4wd, without having CBC. As far as how much usually depends on the truck, seems like every truck is different when it comes to lifts. You could always try it and if it doesn't work out then post it for sale on here and Craigslist. Good luck!

Thanks guys. Truck has been great so far. It sounds like I went a little too aggressive to be safe on this one. I would hate to spend a day putting this kit on and have to take it off right away.

Thanks Rescue, I will check out PRG's website.

Is there a clear cut limit for the front and back that is guaranteed to work with an otherwise stock truck. Front x" and back x" to give a leveled lifted truck?

If it is smaller than 3" and 2" will it even be noticeable?

Appreciate the info gents.

To know what you need to level out the truck, measure your fenders and see where you sit stock. Then you will know how much height difference you have front to back. For 2WD 08+ more than 2" front isn't recommended because of CBC. Also, if you go more than 3" in the rear you will most likely need a driveshaft spacer.

I just ordered a 1.5" spacer for the front, which should put me pretty close to level.

When my 2008 was stock, it sat 35" in the front and 37.5" in the rear, which was the same as my 2006 when it was stock.

Since he is 2wd instead of a driveshaft spacer he will need a carrier bearing drop, if he ever goes over 3" lift in the rear

Thanks for the replies.

If I return the kit I have and order a

2.5" front
1.5" rear

lift kit can I resoundlingly say I will not have travel issues or need any additional non-stock components?

I am just looking for a level/lift with minimal work and $$ right now.

Someone give me definitive yes please....

I have a 2010 2wd and your 08 2wd will be the same as mine. 2" is the max you want to go in front and it will measure level front and rear and you will not have CBC, any higher you will need aftermarket UCA's if that is the for sure route you want to go I would look at the new UCA's in this order...
1. Dirt King UCA's
2. PRG UCA's
3. Total Chaos UCA's
4. Rough Country UCA's
Prg and Dirt King will give you the most additional clearance but the only way I would run a 3" period is if I had an 04-07 2wd with aftermarket UCA's. With just a 2" up front you do not need a rear block.
If you order the 2.5" front 1.5" rear your front will still sit about an inch lower than the rear and you should probably buy aftermarket sway bar endlinks to prevent your sway bar from flipping and causing problems. Another thing with the 2.5" up front is you will either need to grind down the lip of your coil bucket, grind little U's where the UCA's contacts the CB or buy at a minimum the Rough Country UCA's.

If you want a definite inexpensive way to level your T with no issues just get the 2" up front and that is it. You will definitely notice the difference even with just a 1.5".

Thanks Social.

I measured street to fender and it was 35 5/8 front and 38 back. So what you say makes total sense. I dont want to get into uca's or potentially tearing my truck up. I plan to do more later when the money tree starts putting on leaves.

Does your truck pictured only have the 2" up front? I like it.
