Hey guys have a '05 Titan kingcab 4x4.
I currently have Courser A/T2 (Mastercraft Tires - Courser A/T 2 -)
I got these tires put on last year at the beginning of this month. Last time I looked I had a little over 22,XXX miles on these tires and they are to the point I will need a new set come inspection time (or before) 8/1/12 is my inspection.
This is my first single rear wheel 4x4 pick up and I was just tickled that I got more than 10,000MI out a set of tires.. my BMW540 eats through them like cheese.
Anyways I was 100% satisfied w/ these tires, I chose them because I knew two friends who were running them and I notcied them on a lot heavier trucks that came into our tranny shop, mostly dodge 3/4 and 1tons.. I live in south western PA and these tires did well in the snow, mud and wet traction. I do a lot of off road driving on hard dirt packed roads and sometimes coal. I paid $184/tire last year. I checked w/ my tire guy last week and he said they are $194 now.. I asked him if 20,000-30,000 was about right for the type of driving I told him I did and for the set of tires I had and he said that was about what those tires get (20,000-30,000).
My question is; I've been doing some research seeing if there is a better tire that is longer lasting and not TOO much of a price increase. My tire guy said the next step lower is @ $160 roughly which were Hankooks he priced me, and then he said the next step up was the $230-245 price range..
The tires I've done research on was the Cooper tires, BFG tires, and duratracs, and from some of the threads that was reporting of some of those tires getting 40,000+ miles out of them.
Does anybody know of a tire thats roughly $220-250, and what series of BGF, cooper, and duratracs are you guys running?
Thanks
