If you are thinking about the Magnaflow Cat-back, just be aware that all you get in their system is a muffler, tailpipe with a tip and a cross-over from 3" to 2 1/2" tubing. You have to use your stock 2" pipe to the Y pipe, stock Y pipe, and stock 2 1/2" to Magnaflow's x-over at the muffler. Their system sells for $597. They sell the muffler by itself for $188. That leaves $400 for the 6 ft of pipe and 4" tip, you can buy the muffler on Ebay for less than 188.
When ask, they say that this is what they call a Cat-back System.
If they were running a hamburger stand, I guess they would call a bun and a piece of lettice a hamburger.

Why not return the setup and get something done at a muffler shop? There are several guys around the site who have done a custom Flowmaster setup for less than $400...and had it done exactly the way they wanted. Just food for thought.

I had a custom dual exhaust installed for that exact amount. Send it back and get it done right. JM2C

I had the Flowmaster 3" in with dual 2/12" out. It used the stock Y pipe and 2" pipe from the cats to the Y pipe, that is what I was really trying to replace and it was hitting the rear end every time I went over a bump. I am still talking with the vender about sending it back. I'm not unhappy with the quality of the Maganaflow, its just not all there. If it wasn't for the return shipping, UPS is $118.00, I would send it back in a heart beat. I do believe that if I do end up using the magnaflow system with the Banks exhaust pipe and Y pipe, it will be a very good system, but will end up costing around $700.

I really liked the look of the Magnaflow and was almost sold on it until I started looking at the fine print and the install sheet. I saw that you had to cut the old exhaust after the Y-pipe. The factory Y-pipe is not that great on the Titan. That's why I went with the Flowmaster Thuder Series setup. It is a true catback exhaust. It has a Y-pipe, muffler, and dual exhaust out the back or the side. It's a sweet sound! I got it at Summit for $417 shipped to my door.

yea i always thought that a cat back was exactly what is says, maybe magnaflow should chage it to y back. lol

i got my 70 series flowmaster setup with x pipe and 2 stainless tips for $250. i bought the muffler off ebay for $97 shipped, the shop had one in stock for 145. so i saved a little there. i really like the idea of ordering the complete cat back setup and putting it on myself, but for $500 and still not getting much is just crazy, thats why i just had it done.

Did you guys notice an increase of power, a "shifting" of power, or no increase at all with those Flowmasters?

I feel I gained some on the mid to high end with no noticeable gain or loss on the low end (although the wheels do spin a little easier with the VDC off). The deep tone has gotten sweeter and sweeter over time. The drone from mine is a little louder than the stock drone and peaks at ~1700 RPM under a slight load. It has not been a nuisance for me or any passengers. Since my highway cruising speeds occur at or above 2000 rpms there is no drone while on the freeway. Hope this helps.

I decided not to go though arbitration to try and get part of my money back, it would have cost me another $30 bucks and would have taken 14 days. I decided to bite the bullit and just put it on. I got my old system off last night, got the Banks 3" and Y pipe on but the hangers on the Magnaflow did not match up with the hangrer locations on the truck, needed to go 5' back. I cut a 10" piece of the extra 3" stainless that came with the Maganaflow to take to the muffler shop to have one end swedged out. Drove the truck with no muffler, sounded gooood. I finnished installing the system when I got home this afternoon, it looks and sounds great. The Magnaflow muffler, tail pipe and tip were all polished, they look great under the truck. The sound is quiter than the flowmaster I took off and there is no drone. I will just have to get over the extra money it cost and enjoy what I have.
I ran a 15.35 with the old exhaust, I will run it one time Friday night to see if this makes a difference.

What series Flowmaster muffler did you have?

I had the 40 series because that was all the shop had in stock, I would have gone with the 50 if had been available.
