Question:

How close will the fins from this new cover be from the spare tire?

Seeing the mock up next to the standard cover leads me to believe it will be a lot closer than the stock one.

That'll depend on what size spare you have. But, the cover is 1-1/4" deeper than the '05 cover which should leave around 3" clear.

The 18's are exactly 4 inches clear from the stocker. Your mock-up makes the larger capacity one look much more than 1 1/4 inches with the length of the fins.

I have a 18" spare there is about 4 1/2 inches between the spare and the stock black cover so there will still be about 3" clearance. Plenty of room.

Does PML sell the temp sensor for the rearend, how much? If not where can I get one and a gauge?

heh, you still planning on giving out brackets to the first 20 people? Any idea on the price and partnumber of the bracket from the dealer?

I believe the parking brake bracket # is 36522-8S10A I'm trying to get a pattern of the mounting area for the brake bracket on the 05 cover. It is the recessed area. I need a template of that area and the hole locations. Last price I heard was 12.00 but noboby is getting any. Maybe by June they"ll have some in stock. In the mean time I'm still working on it.

Correction:
Since the '05 cover is 3/4" deeper than the steel '04 cover the new cover is 2" deeper than the steel '04 cover.

Which leaves us 2 to 2-1/4" clearance.

Shipping Date

How come it will take until late June to start shipping the covers? I can understand trialing the casting to make sure it is right, but that seems like a long time. I'll be over a month into boat towing by then. I had no problems last year, but that new cover sure will make me feel better!!! Information on the brake bracket also would be nice. Maybe PML can order at least 25 of the brake brackets and have them for us to buy when they ship the covers????

PML now has the Ebrake mounting brackets in stock. I think he said they were about $7.50. 25 preorders now. If you want the Ebrake bracket I would call or email and reserve one. Still taking orders.

As of today 4/29/05 there are 27 preorders. Prototype aluminum castings have been made and will be machined next week and tried on a local Titan truck. Hopefully that local Titan owner is a Titantalk member and can give us a report.

If not, the shop needs to get that owner to post on TT so we know. After all, this forum is responsible for most of those orders.

I visited PML and gave them my phone number when they have the first production run.I told them they could use my Titan for fit.If they call and everything works out I'll post it ASAP.
