I placed my order on 4/7 only to be told there was a block build on my color combo and the order would not go through. After many phone calls by me and the dealer the order went through and Nissan's Vehicle Detail of 4/20 had an ETA of Month 06/05.

In mid May an updated Vehicle Detail was sent to me and ETA had turned into Week 06/17/05. Then on 5/23 the Vehicle Detail included the VIN and an ETA of Week 06/24/05.

The second week of June my dealer said the truck should be here on 6/16. On 6/20 when I came back from F1 At Indy :flame: the dealer said delivery has moved back to 6/22. On 6/22 the dealer said delivery has moved back to 6/27.

Nissan can confirm the truck has made it onto a train, but they seem unable to figure out where in the hell my truck is. These delivery dates keep pushing back because they don't seem to have a freegin clue as to when it will get to here.

Today I have been told the Nissan rep will be at the dealer and the Sales Manager that I have been working with said he will really push this issue to try and get some info. Overall I'm very happy with the dealer, the problem here seems to be Nissan. How can a company seemingly not know where a $30,000 asset is? This boggles my mind.

Man. you have had a year haven't you? First the trip to Indy for the F1, what a fiasco that "race" turned out to be and now the incredible wait for your truck that you had hoped to have for the trip to Indy.

Ever think you might need to find a four leaf clover somewhere?

It will all soon be forgotten once you are in that truck and working on what to modify next.

Hang in there Quad!

Trust me, this month of June has been bizzare. I have to confess camping out of my Mom's Outback worked out okay at Indy, but if it's not one thing it is another. I'm 45 minutes outside of Indy, about an 11 hour drive, and my phone rings. My sister tell me someone tried to break into my house, the front window screen is gone and so is my $1,000 Main **** Cat "kitten".

Long story short - Ganzo was found and was fine, I think the attempted break in was a weird fluke or prank as it was during daylight on the front of the house, right in plain view of the road. Any smart burgler would have gone to the privacy of the back yard and broken the sliding glass door.

And yes, US F1 GP was a bit bizzare this year... I will never own a vehicle with Michelin tires nor will I ever buy a Michelin tire for the rest of this lifetime.

Thanks, hang in there is the only thing I can do; after all the mods are stacking up in the garage already...

Be patient. Your truck is just on a sight-seeing train vacation of the country. It needs it because it knows you're gonna put it to work as soon as you get it! lol.

I swear this is exactly how I see it...

I don't know how they could keep track of where the vehicles are once they load them into the rail cars. It's not like they are going to unload and sort at every rail yard. I guess whichever rail company they have contract with, they have to wait until an auto consort gets made up and delivered to the auto unload yard closest to you.
This time of the year is slow on the auto deliveries...plants are in re-tool or slow down mode as the model year closes.

atleast you know you have LOTS of fun coming your way with the stack of mods in the garage... I on the other hand have to wait for my mods to come in slowly, one by one....booo

phlydude, I sort of understand your point of view, however my car made it all the way from Japan on a ship, on a train and on a truck, and Honda was able to tell me where my car was in amazing detail. I just sort of expected Nissan could do the same as Mississippi is a tad closer than Tochigi...

PuvMan, this is what I have to date: AirHog airfilter, Nissan coin tray, receiver hitch brake light, Husky floor mats, Nissan bed divider, Nissan front spoiler from an Armada, Softopper cap for camping, chrome tailgate kit, 3M clear bra (I'm having a pro do the instal I'm chicken). The next thing to order I'm waiting for manufacturing to start up, and that is the VersaCover Undercover tonneau cover for the King Cab. I think after that I'm done until I have the cash for a trailer and to have the wheels chromed.

$30K asset missing - welcome to manufacturing.

Wow, hats off to Honda. Perhaps its that Nissan is not telling you where it is because it doesn't exist???
Well according to what I have found out because I have a valid VIN, the vehicle does exist, in fact they can even confirm it left Canton on a train. What they can't seem to confirm is if it came off a train and if so where. So it could be riding around the country on a train, it could be sitting in a train yard waiting for a truck, it could be on a truck driving around the country or it could be in a truckers yard waiting for a final delivery to my city. See, it is all so specific... :bangheadintowall:

Okay, one glimmer of good news...

The dealer will write up all my order's paperwork on 6/29 so I can lock in the June incentives because at this point I don't expect to see the truck until July. If the July incentives are better we toss that paperwork and write it up in July, if the June incentives are better I get to keep them as long as the truck gets into my hands within 7 days of this paperwork being done.

I hope you get your truck soon, :( and it will be interesting to hear what happened to it.

On the F1 GP, I hope you'll reconsider this about Michelin, at least they had the gonades to step up and voice there saftey concerns and recommend they not race on them, vs what Firestone did and that took alot of lawsuits and a recall before they fessed up, hold it,they never did fess up did they?, The saftey of their drivers was there first concern as it should have been , and maybe the management of the GP should have considered this as well, this the michelin teams said they would have raced with no points, but they choose not too.

To us it's a $30K expenditure,to Nissan it's just an item. They don't get attached to them...

Thanks for the positive thoughts regarding my missing truck...

As far as Michelin is concerned, I do not see myself changing my mind. Yes the FIA has to bear the brunt of the fault, but I believe in the highly politically charged world of F1 nothing is as simple as it looks and I think there is a little deceitful dirt on Michelin's hands.

Well in another hour or so I'm to call the dealership and get some info. The Nissan sales mgr and the VP of dealership operations are the 2 people I have been working with, and last night they were going out to dinner with the Nissan rep, and I spoke to both of them and begged them to find out what is going on with my order.

$30K asset? To them it is what, $10-12K worth of time once the first 100,000 are sold off to pay for the tooling?

Well I spoke to the dealer, they found my truck. It is in Ohio, sitting on a train. That sounds all well and good, however, the train has no departure schedule as it is not full and they have no idea when it will be full.

Once the train is finally full it will have to be sent to Buffalo NY, from there it will have to get loaded onto a truck and sent to the dealer. I think it would be safe to say the delivered on 6/29 is no longer valid...
