Why buy an exhaust if you want quiet? Most noticable difference with exhaust is sound performance is almost unchanged. Doesn't seem worth the $$$ to me.

what is the quietest aftermarket exhaust made
and are you sacrificing true power gains if the exhaust is quiet or not as loud as some other aftermarket exhaust systems
stock exhaust :upsidedow

seriously though I hear the gibson is pretty tame. But the straight back exits are quieter then side swepts.

My Gibson single swept-side is really mild. Don't get me wrong, you can hear it, but it is about as quiet in the cab as you will get, even while towing.

I love my Borla. Normal driving and it's not much louder. But get on it a bit and it just growls! I think having the tips stick out the back keeps the in cab sound down a bit also.

Could be the new Zoomer exhaust that I just put on. Video/sound clips coming soon...

You could probably incorperate an exhaust tip with a built in silencer and still run big pipes to help with performance, I for one love loud exhaust hehe most of the time I would rather listen to my Banks then my stereo :D

electric cutouts huh?
where would i find these at and how would i incorporate them onto my exhaust

would or should i still get an aftermarket exhaust or just get the electric cutouts.... also where in the exhaust would they mount.

also about the exhaust tip with built in silencer... where could i get one of them if i decide to go with getting an exhaust without cutouts

Cut outs have too little back pressure for a stock modern engine from what I've heard these ECU engines need some back pressure but let us know if this isn't correct andif it works for you.

The Borla is unobjectionable, as aftermarket exhausts go. It won't scare the horses. Your neighbors won't stop talking to you. You'll still be able to have conversations in the truck, and enjoy the stereo. In fact, The Borla cat-back is music to my ears.

i havnt heard it personally but one point zoomers stresses is no in-cabin drone. personally i have the b&b and its pretty quiet, there is still a slight around 1800-2000 but on the whole its quiet as stock inside the cab, outsid eits a bit louder. as for the cutout and backpressure, if you look at dynos on other forums, at WOT they provide a hp gain over any aftermarket exhaust. sometimes only a few horses and lbs of torque. at cruising rpm im betting there will be a slight loss in power. with that said, there is a very loud drone in the cab with them fully opened which i cant bare but for wot runs its music to my ears.

has anyone here had personal experience with cutouts / electric cutouts
where is a good place to have em installed ...right after cat right before muffler... does it make a difference...

in the Titans case, would i need just one cutout because of the way the exhaust is setup?

i installed them inplace of the seconday cats. if you have a single inlet to your muffler ala stock, it may be convenient to place just one before it. it really doesnt matter much on a non boosted engine. it depends on the sound you want. a dual cutout on seperate pipes makes a different sound then a single one before the muffler.
