I bought one for my frontier (2005 mini titan) in the process making it fit :deathsent I cut out the inner baffle before the mass air flow sensor. Wondering if any of you guys have removed it and noticed a gain or a loss?

I noticed a good gain-spinning into second and chirping third in 100+ degree weather.

Is that the little moon shaped piece welded in there? I wondered what that was there for? Do the FIPK or Filter chargers have them? How did it affect the sound and performance? I thought about that but figur3ed they put it there for a reason.

Yeah, I haven't seen that on any of the other intakes out there. Anyone have a pic of this baffle. Seems like it would cause unwanted turbulence at the MAF.

i sure it has a good purpose or k&n wouldnt have put it there i think its to push as much air across tha mass air flow sensor as posiblly to ge the best reading to the computer. if im thinking corectly if the comp. thinks theres more air going into the engine doesnt it compensate with more gas to even out the mixture, therefore more power or am i an idiot?

Sound- doesn't make a wooshing sound like most aftermarket intakes. Power hand to cut it off to make it fit (all thats left is the mass air flow and 2" on both sides) As for a/f at wide open my narrow band shows rich.

It reduces the the passage, I figured if it was there to push more air into the mass air flow then it would have angled back a bit more. Looks like it causes turbulance in the intake or sound...
