My 08 is having paint issues as well. It's lived outside all it's life though.

The rain channels on the roof have rust. There is a spot on the hood where the clear coat is eaten through.

My Ford F150 work truck that never gets washed or waxed on any regular basis has better paint.

I was in an accident with only 3000 miles on my truck and the entire bed and tailgate had to get repainted. That paint is holding up extremely well compared to the paint on the cab.

Yep, I like the truck, but the paint on them is not the best.

Nissan are you listening?

I think it has to do with the paint color.

I have a 2011 Red Titan, so far no problems, knock on wood... A little scared about this color from all the threads I've read about Red Alert Titans and paint.

Previously (up until a few years ago) I had a 1997 200sx, silver, and the paint that was on the metal looked very, very good. The plastic parts weren't holding up nearly as good, but the metal looked great. This car was inside about 1/4 of it's life, but it wasn't really cared for all that well.

I have a silver titan. Paint has held up very well over the last 10 years. But I also claybar it once a year with wash and wax in between.
I definitely think that the clay bar helps in the long run.

I'm loosing the clear coat above the windshield. Charcoal 08

Knock on wood but I've never waxed my truck since I've owned it which has been since 08. It's never been garaged and I wash it maybe 3-4 times a year whether it needs it or not. It pretty much is always dirty but my paint is pretty much flawless other than were stupid jerks have door dinged me. Radiant silver btw.

My '05 has got the 2 spots on my roof... Gotta get it re-painted!

Luckily i have a friend who owns a body/paint shop! :)

my 2012 has a lot of rock chips on the front bumper and hood.. really annoying.. but other than that the paint is good i got a place in town to clea coat my truck as a buddy i know works there for $200 bucks. minus the chips nothing at all wrong. but its only been 2 years.
some i have seen around town, even older titans look like their paint is in good shape and i live in semi desert climate where it gets to plus 40 Celsius and -35. so maybe only select cases have bad paint

Hood can be prevented with a bug shield.

Nissan and other brands that paint the front bumper...dumbest idea ever considering the rocks that get kicked up at it from other other cars. Should be full chrome plated in my opinion. My 2004 off road package bumper has the chrome plated center and painted plastic corners. I dislike that the Pro4x package is now painted bumpers rear and front. Dumbest idea ever.

I agree with painted metal bumpers, they will chip and the will rust eventually.

The 08 just fell out of the 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty
Is this standard? I always figured it was a standard 3 year 36K mile warranty.

And yes, Nissan paint hasn't been great. The last Nissan I had that had nice paint was a 91 Maxima SE we had in the family. For the last 10 years or so the paint has been thin and chips easily.

I am fighting with Nissan atm about painting my truck the rain rails on the roof the A pillar left side by the fender and the hood is peeling and they said they wouldn't cover anything but the roof and A Pillar oh and on the back of the cab also under the rear window but nothing was said so far about that from them. I brought it to a Nissan Body shop and first sight they said they would paint the whole truck due to bad paint but Nissan is saying otherwise. Now its all a waiting game to find out the verdict from Nissan since i got a second opinion.

The 5 yr/60K warranty is for powertrain issues only. The standard bumper-to-bumper warranty remains at 3/36K for Nissan.

Hopefully, you're aware that all car manufacturers had to pass more stringent environmental standards in the 90's that mandated paint operations became less toxic and use water-based paints. Nissan isn't the only one with complaints about chipping paint. Take a look at any car website and there'll be some *****in' about it.
