Could be awhile with Dana going into bankruptcy. Makes it harder for Dana to get raw materials for their products. They're still in business but production most likely will be cut back if they don't have the raw materials. Hard to buy raw materials if you don't have good credit or cash.

update:
just got off the phone with the dealership and guess what?........ still not a rear end in the country for my 05 titan. I feel like I am being lied to but don't know where to go from here. I asked the dealership what are we talking for a time period and he told me maybe 20 days. Is this legit or because it is warentee work i am being put on the back burner. I asked why so long and he told me this part is backordered throughout the country. Is there anyway to find out if this is the case? anyone out there that might have the answers please let me know.

Go to another dealer and start over. Dont tell them the other dealer cant find it. See what they say.

Tell your dealer to grab a rear end off of one of the new trucks on the lot. If that doesn't work then start threatening them with the lemon law (but might have to wait for about 30 days depending on what state you live in).

My wife's 1.8T VW Jetta had the coil problem so the dealer went out to his lot and grabbed one off of a new Jetta (with an updated coil) and off we went. It's worth a shot.

dude im telling you they are full of shiznit.im on my third rear diff and it hasnt taken more than a week to get it.they are supposed to call me to bring truck in when the axle comes in.they got approval from nissan like tues or wed and he said it should be here by mon tues a week.slap the service manager and go somewhere else.me im going to letter my truck with THIS TRUCK HAS BURNED UP 3 DIFFERENTIALS IN LESS THAN 12000 MILES.NISSAN SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK.ON LAST REPLACEMENT JENKINS NISSAN LEFT MY BRAKE LINES LOOSE CAUSING FAILURE!before i take it in for it to be replaced.so while it is sitting there all the customers can read it.i went back to jenkins only because you have to go to the dealer where you bought it for lemon law buyback but that is not my case.so when i get the truck back im going ot tell them to put it on a rack and hand over a torque wrench and line wrenches so i myself can check their work since their techs are retarded.

Make sure they are getting the rear end vented correctly and not leaving it plugged.

well it's been 25 days since my rear end went and still no sign of it being fixed anytime soon. Nissan America tells me i am 22nd on the list. when exactly do they need to have a recall on these. If I am 22nd on the list then i know there are 21 other people atleast with no truck right now.

that is such poor customer service on nissans part. did they give you a rental? i would tell them to do something or i will part the truck in front of the dealer with magnetic lemons all over it, till they do something.i would also call nissan and see what they have to say. can you still drive it?

well well well ...... it took 28 days but i finally got my truck back. I guess it pays to have a kick *** lawyer put the heat on nissan. I spoke with the dealership on friday 3/24 and was told the expected release date for my rear end was 3/31. Well on 3/24 my lawyer contacted Nissan. On 3/29 my truck was fixed and ready to go home. The dealership was all apologies and i don't blame them for this. Also Nissan America told me I was 22 on the list for a rear end. How many rear end failures does it take until nissan steps up and admits their problem? I am very unhappy with nissan and am seriously considering trading my truck in. It's to bad because the titan is the best looking truck on the road right now.

Ah just waiting for my Truetrac, then to be rid of this bad heal. Everything looks great till ya get to the rear end, well besides the spring wrap thing, but hey that's what Nissan gets for modifying a proven axle and then having the gall for putting in two (oh and now quietly 4) powder cast spider gears in something people are going to hammer!! 30-60 days out and all will be good with the gods. Hint to Nissan, ah make the Truetrac an option or better yet, give us all a check to offset the purchase of a truetrac for 04-06's. Do it right the first time, cutting corners gets ya every time.
