I installed the Nissan hitch yesterday on my '06 XE CC. I installed all three relays. I am using a 7pole to 4flat adapter (I've tried three different adapters) and I am getting nothing in the way of lights on the trailer. I hooked up to a neighbors trailer in order to diagnose the problem and got the same result. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need to test the 7 pole. I keep a test light handy in my tool box. You need to know if you are getting current back there.
What he said ...

Plus, an experience I recently had -- (probably not your problem). I installed the Nissan hitch, relays, etc. when I got my truck and everything has worked fine since then. I added a couple of marker lights to my utility trailer then later that evening went out, hitched up, and checked the lights. Nothing. I reinserted connectors, used my trailer test light, checked fuses. Nothing. I was about to get the test light and start working things over when I pulled the 7-pin connector and discovered it can go in upside down and seem to be fully inserted. Plugged it in the right way -- voila! So my only excuse is that it was dark (and raining) and I should have known better.

The first adapter that I used had the LED lights on it and according to those lights, everything on the truck side was operating correctly. I did check it last night with the tester and it was not registering on the meter. ?????????????????????????????

Where are the fuses that I have read about in some other posts? From what I have read they are behind the relays. There are two fuses (10 &15) in the same box as the relays. Maybe that's my problem.

I usually find that there is a problem with the ground, especially on boat trailers. So be sure your test light/meter/trailer is adequately grounded. Sounds like the LEDs indicate the 7-pin is ok, so maybe the trailer isn't grounding well? Then here is the order I use
-- check for power at the connector under the rear bumper
-- check fuse(s)
-- pull relays and plug them in again
-- glare at it

Good luck!

Got this situation figured out. Due to my ignorance, I was unaware that since I now have a 7-pole on my truck that the fifth wire on the trailer side of the 4-flat is in all actuality a ground. Since my previuos truck was wired for the 4-flat, I was unaware of this issue. But I take pride in the fact that I figured this out without having to make a trip to the dealership and face the embarassment there.

i just shoved in a fuse in place of the relay just have to pull the adapter out of the trailer when i stop for long lay overs from a-b makes me check my load on the trailer he he! lol.
