Does anyone know how to make my truck get more than 11 miles to the gallon highway? Quick background on my truck. CC only have 3700 on her right now, 7" CST, Stillen exhaust, Brute Force CAI, Bil rear shocks, DR's up front. I have read on here that folks flash their trucks computer. Which flash should I use. By flash I mean the multi. accelerater touches and releases when you add mods. thanks in advance

Ease up to your cruising speed, and stay around 65MPH for a whole tank of gas, and I bet you will get 14 or 15 with your setup. The lift kit will worsen your mpg, and if you have the Big Tow package, that will worsen it as well. Blame physics.

Mine only got 11.5mpg at around 3500. Kept improving until now at 13k I'm getting close to 16mpg hwy.

I get 16 to 17 highway and 11 to 12 city. How fast are you cruising on the highway? And do you have the proper inflation in your tires?

well 20% of the average persons fuel comsumption is due to running the air conditioner. If you want better MPG turn it off and roll them windows down. Also 30 percent of fuel comsumption is due to bad driving habits. Accel. very slowly, a grandma should be passing you in a skylark. Also when on an interstate do 55-60, that should help. You can throw away the tornado the cyclone or anythng else that promises better gas mileage. Your vehicle is 99% effective at burning fuel, even if they do work they can only gain 1% more effeciency

At 2800 miles, I'm still afraid to check my mpg...lol

Mythbusters proved that wrong!! Its better to run the AC on the highway and roll the windows down in the city. That is what they proved. GM is making a fuel effeciant car now that by simply rolling the window down and sticking your hand out reduces the MPG by 20 MPG on the highway.

I run my tires HARD.....52lbs front and 50lbs. rear.....I bounce down the road like a basketball but I do average 18.5 mpg.

You are not going to care for this answer, and I am not trying to be a smart azz. You got a 7" lift. You are like a parachute driving down the road. You are lucky to be getting 11 or 12MPG. I only got 12MPG out of my old Z71, and it was at stock height. Imagine the pain if I ever lifted it.

Oh, and another option. As mentioned above slow down.

Running the A/C or not....you won't save much...if anything. Running 50 PSI will just loosen teeth and wear the center of your tires unevenly. Everyone here wants to help but slowing down, switching to synthetic lubes after break-in, and watching the jackrabbit starts are really the only things that can help. You will get somewhat better mileage after break-in, and there is no "flash" for the Titan let alone one that will up your mileage. It'll get better with time. Just slow down a bit.

Thanks to all the replied. I don't drive too fast on the highway 65 top. My main ? was really with the mods I have which flash should be used?
As far as I know - no one has a 'flash' yet. (Except some snakeoil salespeople on ebay). Thats been the on-going concern. Until Nissan allows someone to crack the computer and reprogram it to account for better intake and exhaust, your mods don't help and in some cases hurt mileage...

I'm not buying that... it's just my opinion but I don't believe that is anywhere close to accurate.... Main reason being that in the winter when I don't drive with the A/C on, my truck gets the exact same miliage. I know the A/C kicks on with the defrost but there are times in the spring and fall when I am not using A/C or defrost. 20% is a pretty sizeable amount.... I'd have a hard time believing it's above 2-3%....

Any source you care to share?

The lift is hurting you as others have said. That is the reason this truck is staying at stock height. I have been down that road before...

Buy a Sentra... That should get you around 34 mpg.

With the lift, I'm sure you have larger tires, so those two right there are your biggest enemy.

Some might be the mileage on your vehicle. Seems like mine starting getting better around 1,500 miles, then again around 3,500.
Resetting the ECu may help, but drive slower for a few tanks. These trucks have very sensitive computers and will adjust quickly to the change in your throttle habits!

Or, you can do like colding said, get a Sentra, but then, LIFT IT TOO!!:upsidedow

You are correct MTOFELL. Back in 1985, the average automobile A/C unit tapped about 5 to 7 HP from the engine. Todays units use far less, closer to 3 or 4 HP. There was no measurable difference in fuel mileage back in the 80s because of A/C use. Todays units, even using the slightly less efficient R34a coolant, are no different in that aspect. You can do a search on the web...there have been many articles about this very topic.

Just completed a 1800 mile trip and averaged a little over 16 mpg. Mostly interstate driving at 75 mph. Battled a 25-30 mph head wind one day for about 500 miles so I'm sure that hurt alittle. Got 16000 miles on the truck now. I'm pretty sure I could get 17 and maybe 18+ mpg if I ran about 60 mph. Just got to live with it.
