Thank you all for your responses. But, what is the bottom line for me? I wanted more power but not at the expense of low end torque. Is that just something I have to live with on the Banks Exhaust or is there something I can do about it. Or, is the answer to just drive around and break it in some more and see if it improves. The service guy down at the dealership where I had these mods installed touted performance/acceleration and MPG gains....none of which I've realized....in fact, as I've said before, I think I've lost some power/acceleration and my MPG has taken a dive. Any further suggestions would be appreciated....thanks.

The ECU will make whatever adaptations it is going to make in a couple of tanks of gas at most. You will not get the low RPM torque back in any case. In time what will change is your perception, so that you may not notice it as much or at all. You surely have peak HP gains which you can find on a dyno or running 1/4 mile, if that was what your goal was. Your MPG should not have changed or it should have gone up slightly. I'm sure it has gone down because you have had your foot in it a lot since you added the intake/exhaust.

Here is something for you to "research."

The amount of air drawn into the cylinder per revolution is not a fixed amount. That is quite an assumption to say that a cylinder can only pull in X amount of air. If that were true, dyno charts would be almost linear with RPM. It is also quite an assumption that our Titan engines fill the cylinders completely, and there is no more room for extra air. Such a statement shows a lack of knowledge of even the most basic pricipals, and a real need to "do some research". All engines have what is called a volumetric efficentcy, or how much of the cylinder is filled during the intake stroke. This changes with rpm, and is propably in the high 80%, low 90% range on our Titan at it's peak. Changes to the intake, cam, etc. can raise this number. Many race engines can achive V.E. of over 100% without forced induction though carefull attention to intake tuning and cam selection/timing.

guys if i may, i disagree with the point that after market intakes provide more air to the engine. with the piston going to BDC, it can only draw a given amount of air says the ECU. the extra air that a highflow intakes provides, for the most part, goes unused. the advantage of highflow intakes, lies in its ability to allow the engine to breathe easier. only if you change the air fuel ratio(ECU) can you say that the engine is receiving more air. do the research.

Truck41, This is what YOU said and why I told you to
"do your homework". I explained it to you as elementary as possible (actually, someone else said it better)...even you should have grasped the idea.
You can choose to disagree but an aftermarket intake DOES provide more air at a faster rate. Not MORE total air into a cylinder....hopefully you didn't need that explained to you. The Air/Fuel ratio is changed constantly by the ECU so yes...the engine will be able to use more air. That was the point made initially. Nobody argued the point about the high flow filter allowing the engine to breathe easier. And coming from someone like yourself, who's grammar and explainations leave a lot to be desired, the "do the research" comment was annoying.

I would talk with Thrust_Titan about performance mods that many people have not thought about.
