I just put my Fram Boost 2 Intake System on today and it sounds great. Now Im looking at exhaust. I dont want a real loud system. Any recommendations?

I've thought about aftermarket exhaust on my truck, but in all honesty, I think it sounds great the way it is. If I went aftermarket/cat-back I wouldn't want it any louder than it already is, it'll be used for long trips and I don't want to have to listen to annoying drone or loud exhaust the entire time. :)

A CAI I could go for, though. The Volant looks like a really nice product, the Fram is a rebadged AEM? How was the install/fit, any issues? How does the cost compare to others?

With that said, Dynomax super turbo mufflers are about the quietest performance mufflers out there. Next step would be Flowmaster BB 70 series.

Don't make the mistake I made on my last truck and remove the cat. That really made it loud.

So, did the Fram CAI make a difference in performance? Of course, it's probably too early to tell being that the ECU has to learn it's there.

How is the quality and fit of the unit? I'm almost sold on the Fram unit. I may ask Santa to bring me one. :D

I did like how the Super Turbos sounded on my '67 Mustang with long-tube headers and a 351w. :D There were Flowmasters (Haaaate the sound they make) on a '96 F-250 when I bought it, which ended up being replaced with a single 3" Dynomax Ultra-Flo cat-back and that was just about perfect. It was actually fairly quiet, quieter than the stock exhaust on my Titan.

It's such a hard decision, too. I love the way throaty V8 exhaust sounds and really enjoyed the Magnaflow cat-back system I put on my '00 Mustang GT, but it was "annoying" to others in the car during freeway drives.

I think I'm going to stick with my original plan until I no longer enjoy the factory sound. Dang Nissan and making a decent sounding stock system!

It wasnt that hard. The instructions recommended that I take off the wheel to install the heat shield and unpop all the plastic in the fender well so that you can put on these three little bots. I did it w/out removing the wheel. It was hard gettng the nuts on. I managed to get two on, but the third was tough so I used a plastic zip tie. I should of just used three zip ties. The one zip worked out fine.

When I went to take off the water bottle I had trouble disconncting a hose clamp. I could of gotten by w/out taking the bottle off but didnt know until afterwards.

I paid just under $300 for the product. I think it was $285 w/out looking at the reciept.

I only got to take it around the block earlier today. I noticed the added performance around 22-30 miles per hour. I'll take it back out tomorrow and open it up.

I cant compare it to any other CAI system because this is my first.

Go with Gibson

I put a Gibson Dual Sport on my truck, it was one of the more costly exhausts but well worth it. The sound from inside the cab hasn't changed but it sounds great from outside. I always get compliments on the sound.
