I just got an 04 titan KC and everytime the bass hitts even with a stock radio, something makes a weird rattling/vibrating noise. I think it might be the window but cant figure it out. Can anyone have any suggestions?

It's very possible the noise you hear is the seatbelt height adjuster. The adjuster slides up and down and is mounted on each upper sidewall. I never had that rattle, just posting what other members experienced in the past. They thought it was a loose speaker mounting or bad speaker, but it turned out to be that sliding seatbelt adjuster.

I have a rattle/buzz caused by music, it's the outer panel of the map pockets in the doors. When it's making the noise, try holding the outer panel (closest to your leg) and see if it goes away.

I'm going to be taking my '05 in for this issue shortly, it's bugging the heck out of me. Both of my front doors do it, I need to check the rear as well.

i think i might try to come to that, but in the mean time, any more suggestions?
The only things I can come up with since I have the same problem is its in the actual seatbelt device down in the lower door? I have had the panels off both doors on my Titan and found a couple of loose screws on the brackets that hold the panel to the door but that didnt stop my rattle either.
Mine is coming at low speeds/rpm's.
I've pushed and pulled on everything in the truck including the seatbelt thing in the lower door. I've even tied down the loose cables that open the latches at the top and bottom of the doors with no luck.
I've searched every titan site I know of and read hours of threads on this and still havent found it. YET!

It does and on one hand I expect more from a truck that costs as much as a titan but on the other hand with all that I've done to it and with it, I should expect some rattles and such. My last truck (Tacoma) had much more rattles and stuff but it was heavily modified as well.

I havent given up on finding this noise and in fact I read a thread last night on another site that said to check the gas tank skid plate for rocks and other debris that may have accumulated over time? Seems far fetched to me but at this point I'm willing to try anything. I keep hoping a Nissan employed service tech will weigh in on this with some little known and easy fix???

Okay, I think I found the place the rattle was coming from.

After taking the rear door apart one more time and finding nothing loose or hiding in the bottom of the door I decided to start looking under the truck. After pulling and pushing on various lines and any other thing I could find I ran across a stone guard on the front of the fuel tank that is held on with those same plastic push clips used on the inside of door panels. I removed the push clips and the guard for now. I also found out the fuel line routing is in such a way that the lines over time can be vibrating against the underside of the floorboard or the frame rail. I isolated the lines at the spot I thought was most likely making contact with the frame or floorboard with some foam pipe isulation. All thats left is to test drive it but with the weather here I may have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure.

I'll let you guys know as soon as I drive it some.

Not sure if this will help you or not but I had a rattle that was driving me insane. I thought it was coming from my door or the speaker in the corner ofthe dash. I troubleshot for days until I got a tip from a fellow Titan owner to check the rubber seal between the dash and the windshield. (There is actually a TSB out on it now but it is a cheap fix and will save you from having to go to dealer and leave truck or sit and wait.) The seal apparently slides down and allows the dash to vibrate against the windshield.

To verify if this is the culprit, take a business card (or 2 or 3) fold it (them) in half and insert it (them) between the dash and windshield and see if rattle goes away. I tried it and found this to be my problem. I went to Lowes and bought a 4.00 roll of weatherstripping that was of equal thickness to what the original seal was and installed it myself.

Maybe if you read what I posted 4 posts ago( I've searched every titan site I know of and read hours of threads on this and still havent found it. YET!)you wouldnt be so quick to try and make a point that all who have been on this thread have already acknowledged or said!

Read the threads before you write next time. The glass is not always half empty!

To LAfirefytr, SilverTitan7 and the others who are still looking for what is making this rattle, what I posted earlier fixed my rattle. I would not have believed that was it but, no rattles today.

Silver - I could have swore mine was in the door also. In fact I had my son and my wife on the floor listening and trying to locate the rattle. Metal on metal noise can transmit and give you a false sense of its true location. You might want to try looking under your Titan at the front of the gas tank and see if that plate is your culprit.

A 63 mile round trip today confirms that I found mine source for the noise in my truck and, I didnt see a thread on all three of the titan sites I visit that details the stone guard on the front of the tank?

Anyway, check it out. It will only take a minute or two and you may be surprised??
