S&B Intake * Magnaflow Magnapack Info...

Ok,

I have been seeing allot of questions and concerns about these two parts, mainly the S&B Intake. I am going to try and clear some up since I have BOTH of these mods on.

S&B Intake:
Very good intake. I did extensive research and messaged allot of people about this intake, and they all said the same thing. It is the best. It beats the Volant in the 0-60, and the 1/4th mile, and is the same as the Injen. It is a little loud, but I like it and it sounds beastly. It was an easy install and it did COME with instructions. The only problem that I had was I had to drill a hole for the last screw fitting. No big deal here, and I heard they fixed this for the newer intakes(?)

Magnaflow:
What can I say, I have got nothing but compliments on this. It sounds really good, revving and under load. Allot of people have told me it sounds like a diesel with an exhaust, and some says it sounds like a 80's Chevy SS big block. I took this to a custom muffler shop, and had them make me a custom 3" Catback system and had them slap the muffler on. It has drone @ 2000 rpms, but it isn't ear bleeding status.

Just got the S&B as well and i love it. They are super helpfull there if you talk with the techs and ask for info or tips, and at WAY CHEAPER retail price. I quited the in cab noise some by adding some adhiesive backed foam to the box, so it can squish against the fender and pull only cold air. helped alot. you can barely see on right of box in pic, i did like 3 layers of foam to reach. This and volant should come this way from factory imo.

Does the S&B affect gas mileage? If so, is it better or worse? or just ho hum and not noticable. I am wanting to switch to something better but want at least the same mileage as I get out of the stocker I have now. I ain't a racer so not really concerned with the dyno output, 0-180mph speeds or that stuff. I just pull my 19ft boat around and want the power when I need it without costing an arm and a leg to get it. thanks for any info.

I might have to try this S&B intake. It is pretty loud then??? I think my Injen is loud at WOT which is a good thing.

yeah .. it's a tossup between the S&B or the Injen .. so far they seem to both have good reviews and both are enclosed setups .. the S&B price is wayyyy more attractive than Injen's .. i can get a TBS and SB intake for the price of the Injen.. but, dang the Injen is soo dang perty.. (speakin of that .. anyone have a TBS with theirs?) .. think S&B though .. what's the best price found for them so far ? i've seen $219 and $229 ..

RPM Outlet .com was like $205 for S&B i believe. Iwould just order direct from S&B its only like $235 and they will give you free cleaning/oil kit, you can choose to have it oiled with blue or red oil, and they said somthing about free englaving with purchase on clear lid. I wish i knew that i would have got "Hemi EATER" on it haha
Oh and ya i have a TBS on mine as well. with a little trimming it fits nice without toughing the fan shroud

sweet .. 100 bucks or more less than the Injen .. not too worried 'bout the engraving ..though i'd proll just get TITAN or NISSAN TITAN 5.6 V8 on there ... which TSB ya got and do you have that now infamous whistle?

I have the Poweraid one and yeah ive got the whistle. i like it though and knew what to expect cause ive had em on my past vehicles. Its really not that loud. The injen sure is pretty but the price scared me away. Shaily did a dyno test with all the intakes and volant, s&b, and injen were all tied for best gain. He said he has s&b on now cause he has currenty is getting the best times with it. Works for me!

yeah .. i had read his posts .. prolly gonna do the SB and the Ebay TBS for 39.99 .. sounds like a plan .. 1st .. gonna cut the rent check .. then order Intake and TBS :cheers:

the s&b is probably the best performing intake on the market for the money....ive had every intake made on my truck at one time and im very impressed with the s&b.....i had an early problem and they took care of it very promptly......great company and product!!!

I just took a trip from Southern Cali to Arizona, and my gas mileage shot up for the good. I could tell right off the bat I gained. I like it allot much better now <3

di ya'll order through the company's website.. or ebay .. or through another vendor ? what prices did ya get and did you get it engraved if it came from S&B .. did you get to choose the oil color ? .. I'm definitely doin this one though even though i had fell for the Injen..

Will it work with a dry filter on it? I just got my AEM and I'm lovin it but it's not a CAI....I just don't like gauz filters anymore. It is a bit more money than I spent on my AEM like $75 more but would it be worth switching to?
