Buying used with a CEL on is sometimes a real crapshoot. CEL can be from any one of a large number of problems; what's your return window?
Make sure the dealer gets it troubleshot before that window closes...
Would hate to see you get stuck with something that's going to be problematic. Seriously, any big red flags, take it back.
Although truck couldn’t pass inspection with CEL on, I’m not sure dealer has any obligation to take it back. They did stipulate they would fix the fault based on the code P0850 but could not do so in house. They agreed verbally to reimburse for repairs. Nissan dealer says it’s $3K to fix.
I'll be bringing the truck back to the dealer that sold it to me and they will send off the cluster to be rebuilt/refurbished. We'll see how it goes from there. Thanks for your inputs!
