My baby is in the dealership's hands. I asked the advisor why the fix wasn't just to wrap the exposed wire and he said that it was probably damaged. The loaner that they set me up in is a stripped down Altima. Not sure how these are the premium sedans. Oh well, my baby will be ready soon hopefully.

Hope it goes well and you don't get the call that it needs an engine, ha ha ha.

lol, so cruel!

Sadly, the part that scares me most about it being in the dealership's hands is that they like to wash vehicles with their automated car wash and it just looks like a clear-coat torture device when I drive past it. The saving grace is that it's miserable and rainy outside, so I can't imagine them thinking they need to wash it.

You simply tell them thank you but this truck is not to be washed, write it on the work order.
When I leave a vehicle I write on the work ticket the vehicle expressly is forbidden to be removed from the property. I also cross out certain wording. It’s on your insurance if they crash it, read the fine print as you’re giving them permission to operate it on the roadways.
Hope it’s fixed correctly.

Ooh, I'll have to look for that insurance clause. What gets me is that if I wreck their loaner, I have to cover it with my insurance, not sure why they can't do the same.

Work was completed yesterday afternoon. Despite the fact that it was a cold wet rainy day all day, some derp decided to take my vehicle into their horrible looking car wash, I can't help wonder if they did this out of spite, as there's no sense to wash a car when it's raining. I figured I'd have them perform an oil change while I was there, which they did, but apparently they didn't bother to check the tire pressure as it was still at the same 34 psi on all 4 tires. Not really fond of my dealership's service department, and I have rated them accordingly on the post-service survey.

I will say this though, driving through the sloshy rain, I really like how composed these things are going through this messy weather.

Just called my dealership about bringing mine in for the check, and he said based on my VIN mine needs the EGI wiring harness repair. Parts was ordered but wont go out until Monday. And should be in 3-5 days. Will update once this "repair" has been done.

Any luck with the navagation problem.
Sometimes you get radio silence when RTFM has been dispensed. I'm guessing maybe the same here?

I looked over my paperwork the other day, and there is nothing in my paperwork about the harness. I wouldn't be surprised if they just duct taped it and kept the replacement harness for themselves. I guess in a few days I'll just take my truck to another dealership and have them inspect the work. I really really try to understand how dealerships can be so devoid of any excellence these days.

No luck, I forgot to mention it when I dropped it off for the recall work. I will try to remember at my next oil change in a couple of months. I really don’t use the truck navigation enough to even be bothered with it much.

But did they replace your harness or just ordered the harness repair kit which is just a bunch of different electrical tape etc?

Sadly, there was nothing on the paperwork, and the advisor wasn't there. They just had me sign something, handed me my keys, and pointed to my truck. I hand washed it a few days ago, and am already seeing little micro-scratches on the clearcoat from their wash. I know it seems a little OCD, but I hand wash it often enough to notice little things like that here and there.

Ok got you. I awaiting my call since they supposedly ordered my repair kit Monday lol. Ya dealers don't wash my cars, even my wife's Explorer they always give her a coupon to get it washed. I told her nah we'll pass, I can do a much better job and it therapeutic for me.

Got the work done Thursday. Dropped it off and 3-4 hrs later they were done. Work was done with Part# 240R2-9FV0B... whatever that is. I imagine it's the repair kit.
Nice, you don’t know if they repaired something or they did something preventative.
Don’t you just love how helpful dealer service departments are.

Well to be fair, it's an individual responsibility as well to ask what was done. In my case, what was done is on the invoice. I've attached it for those who are still waiting to get this done. This is what they may do.
