Hello All,

Quick and simple thing I did today. I was going to install a OEM controller, but I decided against pulling the dash apart and spending the $350+ on the OEM unit when I had the P3 in my other truck I'm selling. I just bought the Tekonsha to Nissan harness for a clean and easy install with no cutting wires. The factory brake controller plug is taped up under the dash above the E-brake pedal. The rest of the install is pretty self explanatory in the pictures. The only thing that gave me a little headache was the right silver screw on the brake controller mount. I mounted it high and to the right for ease of use while driving, but the trim and 4WD selector make it hard to get a screwdriver in there at that angle. I used a small flathead and it worked at the angle. Pretty simple, but let me know if you have questions or see something I could have done better. Thanks!

That's the popular one for the frontiers, isn't it? I think I had looked at it for my old frontier before buying a titan

You can't go wrong with the Prodigy P3. I had that in my '07. Great brake controller. I used the wiring harness also, thinking that I might take out the controller when not in use. Nope. Once it went in, it never came out again. But the wiring harness made for an easier install, that's for sure.

I have that same model in my '12. It works awesome. Im so glad I bought it!
Question though - Is it ok to mount like that? Not bashing, just curious.
I have mine mounted as parallel as I could with how the truck sits, and its under the dash on the left side. But my parking brake is up against it when the brake is disengaged. Id love to be able to move it and mount mine somewhere like that if it still works at that angle.

I thought the same thing, but mounting must be parallel to the direction of travel to work as designed. Nose up or down is not a factor. This allows you more flexibility to mount it as you see fit.

Do you have the part # for the 2021, I called the dealer and was told that an OEM Trailer Brake Controller was not available for my truck. I don’t think that is correct, but. I have not had time to call a different dealer.
