    Update: I had a Phoenix Gold brand 8" powered sub installed a few days ago.....and it sounds incredible. It's definitely an improvement to the factory system.

    i went ahead and purchased the factory fog/driving lights from the Nissan online store. According to the directions, installation looks pretty straightforward. The kit also came with the factory dashboard on/off switch.

    Me again. When I spoke with a sales consultant at Crutchfield they confirmed that the info I had seen online is accurate.....you shouldn't replace your factory speakers with aftermarket speakers unless you plan on replacing the factory amp with an aftermarket amp (or amps).
