04 no mods,
rough idle,
does not want to get above 2000 rpms,
smell of gas on passenger side when I rev it up in park,
makes a pufff sound with a small puff of blue smoke when I let off,
pulling code 0300 random misfire only
ipdm has been replaced,
truck has been religiously serviced, never overheated,
please help

Have you checked your exhaust manifolds for cracks?

I have not had a chance to check for cracks in the manifold,
would this cause this type of problem?
cracked manifold would cause the rough idle but shouldnt have an issue pulling rpms.

sounds like an IPBM issue, fuel pump issue, or a possible MAF issue.

id start by cleaning the MAF (quickest and wont hurt)

just pulled the maf sensor,
did not see anything that needed to be cleaned or do not know the process,
looked very clean to me,
it it the sensor on the tube close to the airbox with two screws right?

yes thats it, you have to be very careful with it...its sensitive. even a spec of dirt or condensation can cause inaccurate readings with which is the base signal for proper combustion. for future reference, you can buy maf cleaner to clean it. if you do have a manifold leak bad enough to cause at least the rough idle, especially if the truck is warm, you should hear the "ticking" or "chugging" under normal to hard acceleration.

i do know of something called the "LIMP MODE" (never experienced it) the truck goes into in case something is wrong. maybe the misfire set it off. run through the search option on that and see if anything sounds similar to yours.

You can buy MAF cleaner at your auto parts store to clean the MAF sensor, I think it's made by crc.

When the spark misses, the unburned fuel gets forced into the exhaust.

How many miles on the spark plugs?
Modern plugs run about 100,000 before they need to be changed.

Spark plugs are new.

Was this something you did yourself? did you use OEM plugs? I would start there if this was a recent service that was done by you or someone else. Gas smell tells me unburnt fuel possibly dumping into the cats, which could in turn ruin them and cause all kinds of problems. Not sure if one of the O2 sensors would cause this. First thing i would do is check all of the plugs. You didn't try to gap them did you?

Found the problem,
passenger side foward cat went,
pulled the secondary off and got about 2 cups of **** out of it,
punched all the rest of the cats out,
reset the ecu, running fine .
Rebuild must be right around the corner.
This is a serious flaw, if you have a Titan with close to 100,000 you had better change the foward cats.
That means the manifold.
This really pisses me off.
