Okay guys and gals. I've searched high and low and have not come across anywhere that I can find that someone has had this same issue. A few days ago I had to help my brother jump off his car because his alternator was bad and it was dead. So, jumped it off no big deal. Later that night I head to work and notice the clock time is wrong, so I fixed it and it was fine. When leaving work the next day I see the clock isn't maintaining time, so I fix it again but it only maintains the time I put into it last no matter if the truck is turned off and back on too. Shortly after that, I can't get my navigation map to pull up, so I tried to eject the DVD out of the system and it won't, so I'm guessing a lose of power. I checked all the fuses and none of them are blown. I am at a lose right now. Any ideas? I would hate to take this thing to a mechanic or worse, the dealership.

It's got to be a blown fuse. Engine well? Cabin? Maybe an inline fuse for the wiring? It's got to be a fuse. You might have to take it to your local Stellership if you can't find it. Have you searched the manual for DVD power? I don't have the manual on this computer any longer.

Yeah, I kept thinking it was a fuse that maybe someone else may have put in line to it, but I was still stumped. This morning I went outside, disconnected the battery for a few minutes while I read over the wiring diagram in the FSM. Still stumped I hooked up the battery and just crossing my fingers I turned the key and the Navi works again. I can't, for the life of me, figure out what happened! Maybe some fail safe in the ECU? I really have no clue, but it seems to be working just fine now.

That's crazy. It's one I'll try to keep in the back of my head in-case it happens to me.

Reminds me of when the clock stopped showing all together on my RF system, everything else worked fine except the clock did not show on the display. I removed the negative battery cable for a few minutes and hooked it back up and the clock was there again......been fine ever since......

Ok, back to ground zero. My DVD-ROM for the Navi now is starting to sound like it is skipping or something, I hear a clicking and the map screen goes black then eventually the map is not available and gives me the radio or trip screen and the clock stops keeping time. It has fixed itself to normal upon start up twice but within 5-10 mins it starts doing the same thing and the end result is the same. Is the DVD-ROM dying maybe? This is getting pretty ridiculous and I am about ready to take the thing out of the truck and throw it off of a G.D. mountaintop.

Damn dude. Your Nav system has issues. I'd say yes, that the DVD/NAV player is bad. No idea what that would cost to get another one. Maybe you can find one on Ebay? Or maybe at your local salvage yard? I'd bet Nissan would charge you quite a bit for one. One thing, have you ejected the disk and took a look at it? Maybe the disk is scratched?

^Yeah I searched and found that one, I was hoping it wasn't actually at that point but it's starting to look like it. It's doing it with my old Map DVD and the new one I just got. Worked for a bit, then started acting up. Stupid Navi!
