Not sure that this will be the case for all 08's but here are the number my 08 FFV put down on the dyno. Truck has had its 1st oil change at 3k and currently has 5k. These are my 3 dynos. 1st dyno is 2008 FFV with the addition of the Volant intake and exhaust and airaid tb spacer. 2nd is a dyno of my stock 06 FFV on the same dyno. 3rd is on the same dyno with the volant intake/exhaust and tb spacer and timing advance on my 06 FFV. There was a spike in the graph from the truck shifting, but the numbers are 292hp and 368lb ft. Please note the a/f ratios in each graph. What does this mean? Well it looks as if Nissan is either making the engine run extremely rich at WOT, or this combo is far from ideal on the 08's. I'm likely going back to stock and back to the dyno and see the results. If the numbers are better stock, Volant can expect a less than pleasant call.

I thought there was a learning curve for the AF ratios when you add in a CAI?

The CPU curve etc, just as when one gets a 2* TA, they reset the curve to learn?

Dropping one in for dyno purposes only and removing it would show you exactly what you see would it not?

just curious :)

or did i read it all wrong? ;-)
Cliffnotes:
My 08 FFV with the volant intake and exhaust and tb spacer didn't make as much as my 06 FFV with the same mods plus the timing advance. Also the mods on the 06 had a great a/f ratio, the same mods on the 08 have it pig rich. Looks like the 08's are a bit more picky about what they like. At least there is 1 dyno on an 08 with this combo. And this combo went on my 08 after the initial break-in.

This is the part that is throwing me for a loop. and how i understood it the first time.

guess i should of asked how long has the combo been on since break in has finished, and if the above dyno was done lets say 600 miles after you installed them on the 08 FFV?

My 08 isnt the Flex fuel and I installed the Volant CAI, and new MF exhaust 100 miles from new, I noticed a lil increase the day they were both installed, but noticed a great increase after i had 1k miles.

I know nothing shows what mods can produce like a dyno, but just wondering if there might be some user error.

I am used to dynos on my gixxer and having the tech smooth it out using my power commander USB, but there they can manipulate the AF curves whereas our CPu would do that automatically over time.

I ask cause some people here have said that it takes a while for the CPu to relearn after a CAI install and you will feel the difference after some miles put on, could it be possible that you may have to drive it more with the mods on for the CPu to take hold properly?

or am i still effing this up somehow

also, I hope i am not coming off as a jerk, for I am truly wanting to know more is all.

I also noticed you have a huge difference in running temps, one at 60/63f then 67/68f and then 94f those alone can affect the reads.

Over 3,000 miles on the 08 with the mods and more than enough passes at the 1/4 mile track. I'm not going to be putting anymore money into the truck as far as performance. Maybe mini-lift and rear dvd and call it a day.
damn I just ordered the volant intake too
Apparently, my truck doesn't like the volant combo I have on it. It might be a different story for you.

Well i can always throw on some stickers and underlight kit for 100hp gain:jester:
