08' Pro 4X w/ Lift needs input...

I'm new to this forum thing (posting anyway) but I figured this would be the place to ask these questions...so here goes.
First off, I recently purchased a new 2008 Titan Pro 4X Crew Cab long wheelbase truck. I took it straight to a local 4X4 shop for a lift and new wheels and tires. To make a long story short, the truck looks sick, but developed an odd part on part rubbing sound on left turns (slow deliberate left turns). The local 4X4 shop inspected the front end and suggested that the noise was coming from the rack & pinion. I fought with Nissan a bit about the issue, and they decided to replace the rack for me. The strange noise vanished for about five days...then it returned. The folks at the 4X4 shop say the noise is once again coming from the rack, and they dont know what to do.
The tie rods are not hitting the coil springs...that much I've ruled out...any other input would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I have the 6" Fabtech basic kit w/ 18" x 9" wheels and 35" MT ATZ's.

Thank in advance,

Rhino

so it's a metal sound, not tires rubbing? what rims, and what is their backspacing?

I've heard some rims can grind on something on our trucks, don't remember what it was, and don't remember if it was on turns or all the time, but I'd imagine if the dealership pulled the tires to change the rack and pinion they'd of saw scrapes on the rim(s)... maybe look into that...
I beleive the back spacing is 5' on the wheels (Moto Metals). The guys at nissan suggested that there were marks on both the left and right coil springs caused by contact from the tie rod ends (probably the jam nut). I mispoke earlier when I said there was no contact...what I should have said was that I have eliminated that as the cause of this particualr noise.
The latest suggestion I've heard is that perhaps the location of the tie rod link to the Fabtech spindle, puts the tie rod at a strange angle in relation to the rack.
That sounds crazy to me..
Fabtech spindle
OK....we found the problem!
Someone else with a Fabtech lift might know if the rt & lt tie-rod ends need to be switched as in a few other kits...
I know your new here, so I'll give you your first piece of advice:
Stay away for any shock painted white!
I spoke with Greg at PRG this past friday, and he mentioned that my wheel my be large enough to clear the tie rods in the stock position. The Fabtech kit requires the tie rods to be transposed due to clearance issues. Perhaps I should try putting them back to stock and see if that makes a difference.
...and I'm with you on the shock scenario...I should be receiving a package full of Gregs special SAW's this week...I dont think they are the solution to this particular problem, but they certainly cant hurt.
Does anyone else have a Fabtech lift? Can you confirm or deny any odd noises related to steering...or the front end for that matter?

Thanks in advance...

As soon as I have enough posts to do so, I absolutely will.
I too have a 6" Fabtech lift on my new 07 Titan Crew Cab I bought last month from the dealer. I'm a new one to the site and I have been reading about this issue for the past couple of weeks. I have a rattling sound coming from the front end driving at slow speeds over choppy roads but drives well at highway speed. I'm still wondering what is causing the sounds. I have 35X12.50X18" Mud Terrain TKO's.

Have you checked the factory skid plate? I had to tighten mine a bit.
I haven't checked the skid plate. I will take a look at it, thanks.
