08' Titans CANT be lifted?!?!?
I was in 4 wheel parts today picking up my truck and there was another gentlemen talking to a tech about a lift kit and he brought up an 08'. The mechanic said that the 08 model wont be able to be lifted because of its new traction control. He was explaining that it now messures tilt and yaw. As soon as the lift goes on the tilt and yaw combination sets off the traction control and will virtually make it un-drivable. Anyone else know the truth behind this?:huh:

I have an 08 CC LWB with the Pro Comp 6" Stage 2. Put on by the dealer- so I could keep the warranty. Works great.
You may have a valid point. The Tundra folks are having the same problem. When they get a lift and or larger tires, they have to have their VSC reprogrammed as the tilt and yaw rates have changed. I know that in 04 and 05 most Titans didn't come with VDC, do all the 08's come with VDC?

there are 4 lifted 08's at the dealer by my house... I drove two of them

had better not be true, cause im gunna get my 08 tomaro and i want to get a lift in the future
...just saw an 08' w/ the No Fear package at the dealer...they are going to have a hell of a time warrantying the thing if it doesnt work...

Interesting, tilt and yaw measurement are on Titan with VDC only. my 04 has vdc and it's lifted, provided it has been the same system for all years.
I must be slow, because I thought the VDC button only slowed the truckdown when you start spinning the tires, IE like up hill when it is slippery or icy. Damnit now I have to read into this more...
