Hey guys. I'm looking at buying my first Titan (coming from a F250). The 09 that I drove tonight (134k miles) seemed to seriously lack low end power. When accelerating from a stop, it was alot of noise and not much distance, if that makes any sense. When do the 5.6 Titan motors need "refreshing", or is this the way all Titans run? Any help or advice is more than appreciated...

My 2013 is pretty punchy... if the wheels don't spin, it takes off like a gas guzzling V8 should. Could be the engine/trans/torque converter is worn in the one you drove, or could be your F250 was just punchier off the line (not sure what power plant you had in there). Best way to find out might be to test drive another Titan and compare (just an idea). Guess that's not much help.

Thanks Dave. Driving another and comparing is actually what I had planned to do. Coming from a diesel back to a gas will be an adjustment. Looking forward to learning all I can about the Titan. Thanks for the reply...

Mine seemed the same until I added Airaid MXP, full Cajun exhaust, borla muffler and uprev. After that game over. Since then I have added the PD90 intake. Now I can’t keep the tired from spinning, but I have to take the traction control off, because I immediately break the tires loose and power is cut causing me to stall.

The Titan also hits power band at high rpms. Around 4200 is peak power. Rap it out to 6k rpms and see if you feel it from 4200-5500 rpms.
