I am trying to take out the 12V socket on the passenger side, and cant figure out how to get it out. If anyone can give me some help I would really appriciate it! Thanks!!
There's a retaining clip on the front side. Once that is remove it just slide out.
If you try to pull it out from the back side without removing the clip, it will break.
It's been a while, but I thought you just push the assembly from the back to the front (into the cab). There are the covers that prevent the assembly from going into the dash.
I just took a look and didn't get far. You'd have to remove both cluster lid C and D to get a good look at the lighter. I tried by only removing cluster lid C, but it wouldn't budge. There has to be some clips in the back. The housing for the switches are in the way of feeling for clips on the back of the lighter.
in order to repair them, i have to replace the inner socket? b/c my main power outlet on the drivers side isnt working. as well my friggin a/c controls to the left wont allow me to adjust the level of flow, im only able to adjust the temp up and down. any tips to correct this?
Anyone ever get this figured out? I have an 04 Armada I'm trying to remove the sockets from. I'm swapping out the cluster lid D and I've already broken one socket. I later found that diagram but using a small screwdriver to press the plastic squares has yielding zero results.
I'm confused by the phrase "while pressing the hook (B)".
