The new Avalance has more hp at the crank according to GM. GM vehicles have always been padded in their favor and they can have significant drive train loss. The Titan is under rated in power and has a very efficient drivetrain. I would be willing to bet $100 that a Titan would out dyno an Avalance. FYI, 15 is good for a TRUE full size truck. 2.5mpg loss is not even worth doing the math for. I would estimate that you would only save about $5-$10 on that run if you got 2.5mpg more. Not worth having to drive a Chevy over a TitanActually the new Avalanche has more hp than a Titan. I knew these had poor MPG guess I'm just surprised at how low it is. I know EPA #s are bs but I generally get around that at a gentle freeway cruise in my other cars. Guess it's normal, thanks.
