Anyone have 17inch wheels on there titan?

I am not a fan of big wheels and small tread.

The smaller the wheel for me and more tread looks good in my opinion.

I read that 17inch wheels dont fit because of the size of the brakes, but thought I would check with you all.

There is a thread on here someplace about which ones will fit, very few will. Use the search function and you'll find it.

Depends on the year of your truck. Brakes changed in '08 I believe, so anything after that will need an 18" wheel, unless you can find that perfect 17"er that is compatible. I'm sure there isn't much for clearance between the brake caliper and rim with the 17's that do fit. good luck

The previous owner of my 2005 Titan had change to 17" steel wheels, but the truck came with 18" rims. The shorter tire threw off the speedometer about 4-5 mph fast, so to do 65 I had to do 70 on speedo!
I switched back to 18" factory rims and now everything is fine! Still have 17" steel rims.

How does the rim affect revolutions axle/speedometer readings. Tire size would cause innacurate speedometer readings, not the rim.

Let's see the tire size was 265/70/17 on steel 17" rims are shorter, now my 05 I bought used from original owner swapped 18" factory rims tire size is 265/70/18 taller.
So the 17" tires threw off the speedometer. Now I didn't like the steel 17" rims and found a set of four 18" factory rims with almost brand new 18" tires to replace ugly steel rims.
Now my speedometer is correct with 265/70/18 tires. Anything else?

glad they were the same.

the tire size has different height between the two because of the aspect ratio between the width and rim diameter. Both tires have the same width between 17 and 18 in rims, the aspect ratio of 70 is the same, but calculates to a different tire height altogether because of the difference in rim size.

correct, the different tire size will change the revolutions per mile and ultimately affect speedometer readings. you could have gotten new rubber with a different aspect ratio that matched the overall height of 265/70r18

op

if you find 17 inch rims that will fit your application and want to maintain accurate speedometer settings, you will need more rubber, but you like that right? The height of the tire has to match what you have now so a 285/70r17 or 305/65r17 tire will be the closest to maintain an accurate speedo

I am on Pro Comp 17 Pro Comp Xtreme Alloys Series 1089 - They are the "Stock" wheels that came with the no fear package.

I am not sure of the specs but amazon lists this: 17X8 4.5"BS 0MM OFFSET but i cannot confirm

I am on a 6 inch lift with 315/70/17 KO2 tires. Basically 35s

I did have some rubbing when i installed 08+ front brakes. It was hitting the wheel weights so I took a grinder and shaved down the caliper slightly. I also had the tireshop move the weight in a little. It is a VERY tight fit but works fine.

The pic below has my bald-*** front tires but i now have new nobbies on the front and i think the tire to wheel ratio is perfect

No cutting at all it has a -19 offset but I found that someone had replaced the tie rod ends and installed them wrong per the lift and it rubbed the inner wheel edge so I am pulling it apart to swap those back to the right position and I'm adding 1.5 wheel spacers for a more aggressive look.
